Brought to the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry with the appreciation and approval of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, Prof. Dr. Vahit Kirişci, former Minister of Agriculture and Forestry Dr. Bekir Pakdemirli with a ceremony held in the Ministry Headquarters.

The handover ceremony in the ministry was held with the participation of deputies, bureaucrats and ministry employees.

Kirişci, in his speech here, said, “First of all, I would like to thank my esteemed Minister. I would like to express my respects to the President of the Republic for entrusting this task to us. This is a relay race. You will definitely be sitting in a chair for a while. When the day comes, a new friend of ours will carry out this task with great enthusiasm in order to raise that flag higher. On behalf of myself and our nation, I would like to express my gratitude to Mr. Minister. used the phrases.

Pointing out that there is no area that the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry has not touched, Kirişci said that agriculture is an important sector in this period when global climate change has become a current topic.

Kirişci stated that there were those who neglected agriculture in the country before and said, “During the period of our government, the legislation part was brought to this sector. You are talking about a self-sufficient country, you have no legislation. Our food control unit, which constitutes an important task area of ​​this Ministry, is very important. With the legislations enacted regarding these, agriculture has achieved the legislation it needs.” said.

Pointing out that the Ministry is not limited to agriculture, it also has a forest part, Kirişci said that this is also extremely important.

Stressing that the state and the nation deserve the best of all kinds of services, Kirişci said:

“What we have to do is to perform this service properly and better than the previous ones. Policies related to agriculture, forestry and water issues developed so far should be further strengthened. We need to support technology for agriculture. Between 1983-1985, I worked as an agricultural engineer in this Ministry. I am one of you. Hopefully, we will leave a pleasant aftertaste."

Pakdemirli also touched upon the actions during his ministry and expressed that he thinks Minister Kirişci will achieve better success during his term.
