N Kolay Istanbul Half Marathon, which was shown as the best race of the last year by the World Athletics Association, will be the scene of breathtaking competition this year as well. In the organization organized by İBB subsidiary SPOR ISTANBUL, 45 thousand athletes from 8 countries will take the course. Registration will continue until March 1, 2022 for those who want to run with the best elite athletes in the world.

Organized by SPOR ISTANBUL, a subsidiary of Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM), N Kolay Istanbul Half Marathon will start for the 17th time in the fascinating atmosphere of the Historic Peninsula. Skating races will also be held in the race, which will be held in two categories, 21K and 10K. The half marathon, which will take place in Suriçi, will be run on Sunday, March 27, 2022. For those who want to run with the best in the world, the registration of the 17th Istanbul Half Marathon will end on Tuesday, March 1, 2022. THE FASTEST IN THE WORLD IN 2021

N Kolay Istanbul Half Marathon, which ranked first in the '2021 Road Races Evaluation List of the World Athletics Association (World Athletics), is run on a track that has no altitude difference. This special course gives every runner the opportunity to run the fastest half marathon. The race in the Elite Label category, which will be run in the unique scenery of Suriçi, offers unique experiences to the participants with its 8-year-old historical route.

EVERY STEP IS FULL OF HISTORY

The organization to be held in the Historic Peninsula will start at the Yenikapı Event Area and end at the same point. On the track, which continues along the coastal road from Yenikapı to Eminönü, the athletes will cross the Galata Bridge and turn at the lights at the end of the bridge. After the turn, the runners will follow the Eminönü and Cibali coastline, and advance to the Golden Horn Bridge. The track, which returns from the bridge once again, will follow the same line in the opposite direction and end where it started.

WORLD RECORD BREAKED

N Kolay 16th Istanbul Half Marathon held last year set the stage for records. Kenyan female athlete Ruth Chepngetich broke the Women's World Half Marathon record with a time of 1:04:02 in Istanbul. Kenyan male athlete Kibiwott Kandie broke the Istanbul Half Marathon track record by 59 seconds with 35:15.
