The evaluation process for the construction tender of the Buca Metro, the biggest investment in the history of the city, to be realized by the Izmir Metropolitan Municipality, has been completed. After the tender, in which 8 companies competed, the evaluation report prepared by the Izmir Metropolitan Municipality tender commission was approved by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development. It was stated that Gülermak Heavy Industry Construction and Contracting Inc., which met the tender conditions, would be invited to the contract.

The tender decision has been announced during the construction tender process of the Buca Metro, which will serve between Üçyol Station - Dokuz Eylül University Tınaztepe Campus - Çamlıkule, which is the 5th stage of the İzmir Light Rail System. The evaluation report of the two-stage tender for the construction of the 13,5-kilometer line, which will be the largest investment in the history of the city, was approved by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD). It was stated that Gülermak Ağır Sanayi İnşaat ve Taahhüt A.Ş., which fulfills the tender conditions to a substantial extent, will be invited to the contract in line with the report, which has also passed the expert examination appointed by the EBRD. After the 7-day feedback period of the companies, the contractor company will be called for the contract 14 days later.

8 companies competed

The first 13 companies participated in the tender, which consisted of two stages, and in the second stage, financial offers were requested from 8 companies that met the sufficient criteria. Bayburt Group- Azercon OJSC Joint Venture, China Civil Engineering Construction Corporation and Kolin İnşaat Joint Venture, Dentas-Gürbag Joint Venture, Doğuş Construction and Trade Inc., EEB-CRFG-CREGC-MAKYOL Consortium, Gülermak İnşaat, JV of Dillingham Construction- Gülermak Ağır Sanayi İnşaat ve Taahhüt AŞ. 3 billion 921 million 498 thousand TL bid was given.

EBRD approved

In the second stage, the bids submitted by the firms were evaluated by the tender commission and the final evaluation report was sent to the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) for approval in accordance with the international tender legislation. During the review of the evaluation report, a foreign independent expert appointed by the bank was employed. As a result of the independent expert's examination, the report prepared by the tender commission was approved by the EBRD.

External financing of 490 million euros

Izmir Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Soyer signed an external financing agreement of 125 million Euros with the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) in July for the Üçyol-Buca Metro line. The first loan agreement for the Buca Metro, which will be built by the Izmir Metropolitan Municipality with its own resources, was signed with the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) in July. The foreign financing contract of 125 million Euros is without treasury guarantee, has a maturity of 4 years, 12 years with no principal repayment, and a 6-month Euribor + 3,20% interest rate. A financing contract with a total of 125 years, including a 4-year principal grace period, amounting to 12 million Euros, without Treasury guarantee, was signed with the French Development Agency in November. An authorization agreement was signed with the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) for 125 million Euros and with the Black Sea Trade and Development Bank (BSTDB) for 115 million Euros. Thus, an international investment of 490 million Euros was brought to the city. kazanyelled.

The line, which forms the 5th stage of the İzmir Light Rail System, will serve between Üçyol Station - Dokuz Eylül University Tınaztepe Campus-Çamlıkule. 13,5 station areas were determined on the 11 km line to be built with the deep tunnel technique (TBM/NATM) using the TBM machine. Starting with Üçyol, the line will include Zafertepe, Bozyaka, General Asım Gündüz, Şirinyer, Buca Municipality, Kasaplar, Hasanağa Bahçesi, Dokuz Eylül University, Buca Koop and Çamlıkule stations respectively. The Buca line will be integrated with the 2nd stage line running between Fahrettin Altay-Bornova at Üçyol Station and with the İZBAN line at Şirinyer Station. Train sets on this line will serve without drivers. The production work is planned to take 4 years.
