CHP Kahramanmaraş Deputy Ali Öztunç prepared a parliamentary question to be answered by the Minister of Transport, Adil Karaismailoğlu, and submitted it to the Turkish Grand National Assembly. Öztunç stated that the terms of the contract signed by the Ministry of Transport and the joint venture that won the tender for the Northern Marmara Motorway were changed after the end of the work, the vehicle pass guarantees were increased by 3 to 4 times, and the operating period of the joint venture was extended from 9 to 13 years, and asked the following questions to be answered:

On the Northern Marmara Motorway, which was built with the build-operate-transfer model for companies known for its closeness to the AKP, the contract was changed after the end of the work and the vehicle pass guarantee was increased up to 4 times, and as if this was not enough, the operating period was extended from 9 years to 13 years.

CHP Deputy Chairman and Kahramanmaraş Deputy Ali Öztunç, who criticized the current situation and demanded that the ruling party AKP take the hand of the citizen, brought the issue to the agenda of the Turkish Grand National Assembly.

Öztunç asked the Minister of Transport and Infrastructure, Adil Karaismailoğlu, to answer the following questions on behalf of the public in a motion he submitted to the Presidency of the Assembly to be answered in writing:

  1. Why were the terms of the tender changed after the Northern Marmara Motorway tender ended, when the payments started after the end of the work? What are the changes made? Have any regulations been made for the benefit of the public in these amendments?
  2. How long is the contract term of the Northern Marmara Motorway? How much has this period been increased in addition to the period specified in the contract after the end of work? What is the reason for increasing this period?
  3. What is the vehicle warranty in the contract of this highway in terms of vehicle / day? Why was the vehicle warranty number (vehicle / day) in the contract changed at the end of the highway? How much is the increase made?
  4. Who gave the instructions regarding these changes made after the tender?
