China’s Shenzhou-21 manned spacecraft was sent into space from the Jiuquan Satellite Launch Centre at 23.44 local time yesterday. The spacecraft entered its projected orbit 10 minutes after launch. According to the statement made by the China Manned Space Agency (CMSA), after the Shenzhou-21 manned spacecraft docked with the space station combination, the Shenzhou-21 crew entered the space station.

While the Shenzhou-20 crew working inside the station welcomed the astronauts at 4.58 a.m., the 7th “space meeting” in the history of China’s space exploration activities was signed. A total of 6 astronauts in two groups then took a “family photo”.

It was stated that the six astronauts will work together on the space station for five days and will complete the handover of the mission in this process.

Astronauts on the Shenzhou-21 mission will carry out experiments and applications in areas such as microgravity and new space technologies, and will carry out spacewalks and carry out studies such as hardware assembly, adjustment, repair and maintenance.

While China has conducted 6 manned space missions so far, 28 astronauts have entered the country’s space station and served.

On the other hand, the Long March carrier rocket series carrying astronauts carried out its 604th mission.
