The Russian state-owned company Rostec continues to deliver fighter jets to the Russian Air and Space Forces at a steady pace. In its latest press release, the company announced that another batch of Su-34 multi-role bomber aircraft had been delivered to the Russian military. This delivery followed immediately after the previous Su-34 shipment in September and demonstrates Russia’s determination to strengthen its air combat capabilities.
Su-34: Proven to Be “Best in Class”
United Aircraft Corporation (U.A.C.), the aircraft’s manufacturer, stated that it is continuously improving its production processes to maintain high production volumes. The company emphasized that the latest batch delivered will not be the last Su-34 delivery this year.
U.A.C. explained the strategic importance of the Su-34 for military aviation with the following statement:“The Su-34 multi-role bomber has long been a legend. This aircraft combines high maneuverability, a wide range of weapons, and the ability to operate effectively under any conditions. It has proven itself to be the best in its class during its deployment in the Air Defense District and continues to be a key component of Russia’s combat aviation.”
Rostec added that it is aware of the high demand for this aircraft within the armed forces and that aircraft manufacturers are maintaining the Su-34 production rate, thereby strengthening the country’s defense capabilities through regular deliveries.
Su-35S Deliveries Show No Signs of Slowing Down
Rostec’s deliveries to the Russian Air and Space Forces are not limited to the Su-34. Last August, the company also delivered a new batch of Su-35S fighter jets to the Russian Ministry of Defense. This marked the third shipment of Su-35S fighter jets this year.
The Su-35Ss, which arefourth-generation fighter jets, underwent a rigorous process prior to delivery. After production, the aircraft successfully passed factory tests, underwent final inspections by the technical team, and were tested in various operational modes by pilots from the Russian Ministry of Defense. However, the bulletin released by Rostec did not specify which units of the Russian Aerospace Forces these aircraft would be deployed to.
Increased Production Volume: “The Top Priority”
Vadim Badekha, General Director of the United Aircraft Corporation (U.A.C.), who stated that they view the production of military products under the state defense order as one of their top priorities, had the following to say regarding the deliveries:
“The production of military products in demand under the state defense order is one of our top priorities. For virtually every type of such product, an increase in production volumes is planned for the current year, and in this context, we are continuing to modernize our production facilities.”
These statements by Rostec and U.A.C. demonstrate that Russia is proceeding at a rapid pace with efforts to renew and modernize its military aviation inventory. In particular, the regular delivery of critical combat aircraft such as the Su-34 and Su-35S demonstrates that the country’s defense industry is operating at a high pace.
