Marathon-Izmir Avek, organized for the fifth time this year by Izmir Metropolitan Municipality, starts on Sunday, April 21. Maratonİzmir Avek, which received the title of "The Fastest Marathon in Turkey" with 2020:2:09 in 35 and declared its new record with 2021:2:09 in 27, stands out from all its competitors thanks to the fact that it is run almost entirely at sea level. Maraton-İzmir course, whose highest point is 17 meters, ranks first among the most enjoyable marathons with this feature.

42 kilometer run starts at 8 am
Turkey's fastest marathon, which is given the Road Race Label (International Road Race Certificate) by the World Athletics Federation, will start at 08.00 in front of the old İZFAŞ General Directorate building on Şair Eşref Boulevard. Athletes raced through Alsancak in the 42-kilometer race. KarşıyakaIt will reach and return before reaching Bostanlı Pier. The athletes, who will reach İnciraltı via the same track, this time via Mustafa Kemal Sahil Boulevard, will return from Marina İzmir and complete the race at the starting point. A total of 38 athletes from 600 different countries will compete in the race.
10 thousand runners in 5 kilometers
The start of the 10-kilometer race within the scope of Maratonİzmir Avek will be given at 07.00 on the same day and from the same point. Athletes will return from the Köprü Tram stop on Mustafa Kemal Sahil Boulevard and complete the race in the lane opposite the Fuar Kültürpark old İZFAŞ building. 10 thousand athletes will start in 5 kilometers.
