Selçuklu Mayor Ahmet Pekyatırcı met with the headmen who were elected and took office after the election. In addition to Selçuklu Mayor Ahmet Pekyatırcı, Selçuklu District Governor Eflatun Can Tortop, Selçuklu District Police Chief Ersan Aydın, Selçuklu District Gendarmerie Commander Gendarmerie First Lieutenant Muhammed Kavak, neighborhood headmen and deputy mayors attended the meeting held at the Selçuklu Congress Center.

Selçuklu Mayor Ahmet Pekyatırcı, who wishes the new term to be beneficial for all the elected headmen in Selçuklu, said that our headmen who served in the previous periods and our newly elected headmen will perform these duties in unity and solidarity. May God grant us all the ability to do good services. We experienced many things together during the 2019-year period from 2024 to 5. First of all, we went through a COVID process together starting from 2019, right after the 2020 elections. It was a difficult process. Afterwards, we went through wars, floods, fires and earthquake disasters in our country, economic situations and finally the earthquake disaster centered in Kahramanmaraş. We got through these difficult times together. But despite all the difficulties, we strived to carry out these processes in the best possible way, in unity and solidarity, without disrupting our services. In Konya, processes have been established in unity and harmony with our governor and metropolitan municipality, as well as the central district municipalities, our district governors and all our institutions, and our headmen. I would like to thank our esteemed district governor for being our supporter in all our work, especially since the first day he took office. We acted in unity with all directorates. Whatever we do, we need consultation and solidarity with each other in everything we do. When this is not a unity, it is not possible for the services to be delivered as desired. I hope that the good harmony and teamwork will continue in the best way in the coming period.” said.

“WE EXIST TO SERVICE, TO WORK”

Our Selçuklu district is one of the largest metropolitan districts in Turkey with a population of 695 thousand. We have a total of 33 neighborhoods, 39 of which are outer neighborhoods and 72 of which are central neighborhoods. We are obliged to serve a population of 695 thousand. It is our duty to serve the wishes, demands, expectations and needs of all our citizens, all our fellow citizens, without any discrimination. In this sense, as a municipality, we strive to fulfill our duties in the best possible way. Hopefully it will be like this from now on. While carrying out these services and works, we constantly consult with our headmen regarding the needs in our neighborhoods and the plans we will make. Hopefully, we will continue this consultation system in the same way. In the coming days, we will invite our mukhtars one by one and ask about any problems, needs and demands related to their neighborhoods; We will also provide information about our plans and work. Our headmen know the needs at the most capillary points in our neighborhoods. We believe that we can get the healthiest, most accurate information from them, and we think that this consultation is very necessary in order to make the right planning and the right service. I especially request our mukhtars to be in constant communication with us. If we can establish and maintain our communication correctly, this five-year period will be the most productive and fruitful period for us. Because our job is service. We exist to serve, to work. Making correct plans while performing these services is the most important part of executing the correct processes. For this, we must ensure and maintain correct communication. At this point, I expect particular sensitivity from our headmen. Again, I hope that the new term will be beneficial to all our mukhtars. "I pray that God may grant us all the ability to do good services in good health and well-being," he said.
