Successful Performance from Işık and Bayram at Marathon İzmir

"Turkey's Fastest Marathon" Marathon Izmir Avek, organized by Izmir Metropolitan Municipality for the 5th time this year, was run with the participation of 5 thousand 600 athletes. Athletes from 38 different countries participated in the World Athletics Label Marathon Izmir Avek in the International Road Races category. In the 600-kilometer race, in which 42 elite athletes participated, Kenyan Vitalis Kibiwot took first place in the men's category with a time of 02.11.08. Ethiopian Sendeku Alelgn came second with 02.13.42, and Kenyan Silas Kurui came third with 02.13.47. Ethiopian Aamelmal Tagel won the women's race in the 42-kilometer race with a time of 02.37.26. Again, Ethiopian Bekelech Bedada came second with 02.42.10, and Japanese Suguru Oktabe came third with 02.43.16.

5 THOUSAND 600 ATHLETES RAN

The first start of the day was given at 07.00 in the morning in the 10 kilometer category. The athletes, who started running at 07.00 in front of the old İZFAŞ building in Kültürpark, returned from the Köprü Tram stop on Mustafa Kemal Sahil Boulevard and completed the race in the opposite lane of the İZFAŞ building. Özlem Işık from Manisa Büyükşehir Belediyespor completed the course in 40 minutes and came third after Tuğçe Karakaya and Natalia Kahraman. Ahmet Bayram won first place in the 35-45 year old men's category with the track he completed in 49 minutes, and ranked sixth in the general classification.
