The April meeting of the Fethiye Tourism Council, whose secretariat is carried out by the Fethiye Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FTSO), was hosted by Fethiye Municipality. At the meeting, it was decided to promote the Fethiye destination at the Antalya Tourism Fair, which has turned into an effective fair for direct marketing by bringing together important tour operators, hotels and agencies. The council also received the opinions and suggestions of council members about the measures and studies that fall within the responsibility area of Fethiye Municipality for the 2024 tourism season.
The meeting held at the Fethiye Municipality Assembly Hall on 26 April 2024 under the chairmanship of Fethiye Deputy Mayor Oğuz Bolelli and FTSO Chairman of the Board Osman Çıralı was attended by Fethiye Mayor Alim Karaca, Fethiye Tourism Information Office Manager Saffet Dündar, Fethiye Municipality Council Member Veli Uysal, Fethiye Municipality. Council Member, also Fethiye Hoteliers Association (FODER) President Bülent Uysal, FTSO Assembly President Kemal Hıra, FTSO Deputy Chairman Ramazan Dim, İMEAK DTO Fethiye Branch President İlkay Tugay, TÜRSAB Batı Akdeniz BTK President Özgen Uysal, FTSO Board members Emre Başaran, Süleyman Kaya, Çalış Tourism and Promotion Association (ÇALIŞDER) President Mete Ay, Fethiye Municipality Cultural Affairs Director Halime Ok and Muğla Metropolitan Municipality Tourism Personnel Erdi Filiz attended.
At the meeting, the issue of participation in the Antalya Tourism Fair, which will be held in Antalya on 23-25 October 2024, was first evaluated. Council members jointly decided to include the Fethiye stand at the Antalya Tourism Fair, which has become an effective fair for direct marketing, where the most important tour operators, hotels and agencies come together. It was also stated that it would be beneficial to hold events and presentations for the effective promotion of the Fethiye destination during the fair.
As the second agenda item at the meeting, the studies and measures that fall within the responsibility area of Fethiye Municipality before the tourism season were brought to the agenda. Council members took the floor and brought up their opinions and suggestions on possible work on infrastructure, control, inspection, water cuts, cleaning, garbage and construction bans. Fethiye Deputy Mayor Oğuz Bolelli stated that they took note of all the requests and said that the necessary steps would be taken.
Stating that the meeting hosted by Fethiye Municipality was extremely productive, FTSO Chairman of the Board of Directors Osman Çıralı said: “We are making all the necessary preparations to ensure that the 2024 tourism season passes in an environment of peace and security and to offer the best physical conditions to our holidaymakers.
