The Honorable Village Institutes of Republic Education were Discussed in Antalya

Antalya Metropolitan Municipality organized a talk on "Village Institutes, the Pride of Republic Education", on the 84th anniversary of the establishment of Village Institutes.

Antalya Metropolitan Municipality, on the 84th anniversary of the establishment of Village Institutes, which are considered one of the most important education centers in the history of the Republic of Turkey, a former Village Institute student and 16th Term Member of Parliament Dr. He organized a talk in which Sami Gökmen was the speaker. In the interview held under the title of "Village Institutes, the Pride of Republic Education", the importance of Village Institutes in terms of the history of the republic and the development of society was touched upon, and what kind of training was given in the Village Institutes and their functioning were explained. Institute graduate teacher Nazmi Öner also attended the interview.

THE GREAT GAIN OF THE REPUBLIC

In the conversation held at Bülent Ecevit Cultural Center, Dr. Reminding Atatürk's words after the War of Independence, "The real war begins now", Sami Gökmen stated that the efforts made by Atatürk and his friends to educate the people and the establishment of Village Institutes at the end of this effort. Gökmen said, “In 1940, under the leadership of the then President İsmet İnönü and thanks to the efforts of the then Minister of National Education Hasan Ali Yücel and İsmail Tonguç, it was aimed that the children living in the villages who were primary school graduates would receive education in the Village Institutes and return to the villages where they lived to teach. In Village Institutes, lessons were given in many fields such as daily life, Mathematics, Turkish and Science. "The students who grew up there became people who made great contributions to the Republic," he said.

Following the conversation, the Village Institutes exhibition was opened in the foyer of Bülent Ecevit Cultural Center. The exhibition will be open to visitors until April 20.
