Ministry of Family Organizes the First Child Summit!

The opening ceremony of the 2022-2023 academic year was held in Ataşehir

The Ministry of Family and Social Services will organize the Children's Summit for the first time with the theme of 'Children and Childhood in the World of the Future' within the scope of April 23 National Sovereignty and Children's Day events.

The Children's Summit, which was prepared based on the understanding of creating child-centered child policies and practices of the Ministry of Family and Social Services and actively operating consultation mechanisms, will be held on 25-26 April under the auspices of the Presidency of the Turkish Grand National Assembly. Many politicians, academics, experts, children and young people will attend the summit.

Theme: “Children and Childhood in the World of the Future”

While the Children's Summit, which will be held for the first time, is aimed to gain the identity of a traditional program, this year's theme has been determined as "Children and Childhood in the World of the Future".

Effective information will be shared in the field of children

By following the current studies on children, the concept of childhood will be re-opened for discussion between developing technology and digitalized applications, and the basis will be laid for the creation of future child policies.

In addition, effective information sharing in the field of children, preparing children for a safe future, increasing public awareness on this issue, and sharing information and experience about the studies carried out on the national platform are planned to be among the achievements of the Children's Summit.

Academics session will be held

At the summit themed "Children in the World of the Future", where panels and speeches on different topics will take place, panels will be held under the moderation of experts in the field, and the topic "Children Affected by Humanitarian Crises" will be discussed in the opening session. In this session, "Education of Migrant Children", "Internal Dynamics of Migrant Families, Support Systems within the Family" and "Psychosocial Effects of Humanitarian Crises" will be discussed.

Media and Children Session

In the session themed Media and Children; Many topics such as "The Effects of the Media on Children", "The Responsibilities of the Media towards Children", "What We Can Do to Increase the Opportunities Provided by the Media for Children", "The Role of Families and Educators in Children's Conscious Media Use" and "The Effect of News in the Media About Children on Children and Society" will be discussed.

Children and Youth Session

In the session themed “Future Expectations of Children and Young People”; The topics of "Social Participation and Responsibility", "Environmental Awareness and Sustainability", "Security and Awareness in the Digital World" and "Education and Career Expectations" will be discussed.

A report will be prepared and shared with the public.

On the other hand, the outputs of the summit, in which child experts, academics and people who play a role in the production of child policies will also participate, will be prepared as a report and shared with the public.
