Türkiye Cultural Path Festivals Started in Adana!

Minister of Culture and Tourism Mehmet Ersoy said that the Türkiye Culture Road Festival will be held in 2028 cities in 35. At the press conference held at the Adana Museum Complex of the International Orange Blossom Carnival, which is the first stop of the festival this year, Minister Ersoy stated that the Culture Road has spread to 7 regions of Anatolia.

Stating that the number of cities included in the festival is increasing every year, Minister Ersoy said, “Hopefully, we will be holding the Turkey Culture Road Festival in 2028 cities in 35. Last year it was in 11 cities, this year we increased to 16 cities. “We continue our festivals by increasing them every year.” said.

Minister Ersoy explained that their primary goal is to organize festivals that will provide citizens from all age groups and segments with easy access to types of art.

Stating that the Türkiye Culture Road Festival serves many purposes, Ersoy said:

“Our second goal is to increase the awareness and branding of the city where the festival is held, especially in Turkey and all over the world. While holding festivals, we support culture and art. Therefore, we support our artists, but most importantly, we take a very important step towards the international branding of our cities. While carrying out the Culture Road Festivals, we pay particular attention to interacting with the cities' existing ongoing festivals. We also make them a part of the Culture Road Festival. We pay special attention to ensuring their development and continuity in a richer and more effective way, under their own names.”

Approximately 16 Thousand Events in 7 Cities

Minister Ersoy stated that the Turkish Culture Road Festival started with Adana this year and continued as follows:

“Our festival chain, which started today, will continue for nearly 8 months. Adana is followed by Şanlıurfa. From Şanlıurfa we go to Bursa and then to Samsun. When you look specifically at Adana, Şanlıurfa, Bursa and Samsun, these first four cities are actually our cities that are included in the Culture Road Festival for the first time this year. Samsun will be followed by Trabzon, then we will continue with Van. Van is the 5th city among our new cities included in the Cultural Road Festival this year. We will go from Van to Nevşehir, Erzurum, Çanakkale, Ankara, Konya, Diyarbakır, Gaziantep, İzmir and end in Antalya. "When we include Istanbul, we are talking about a festival chain that will last for 16 months in 8 cities."

Minister Ersoy announced that approximately 16 thousand events will take place in festivals in 7 cities.

Stating that many artists will participate in the International Orange Blossom Carnival, which started the festival, Ersoy stated that names such as Haluk Levent, Fatma Turgut, Emir Can İğrek and Mert Demir will take the stage.

Referring to some of the activities of the carnival, Minister Ersoy gave the following information:

“İsmail Altunsaray and Öykü Gürman will take the stage at Atatürk Park with the folk songs of Neşet Ertaş. When it comes to digital art, we are presenting art lovers with Güvenç Özel's 18-meter high holoflux show in Central Park, an event where digital and plastic art combine. When we talk about digital art again, Turkey's world-famous brand Refik Anadol will appear in Adana with a new exhibition, 'Machine Hallucinations: Coral Dreams' performance. Ataturk is indispensable. “We plan to bring the digital performance 'Atatürk on the Road to Culture' to art lovers during the Orange Blossom Carnival.”

“We Aim to Increase the International Awareness of Our Cities”

Minister Ersoy stated that they created a "children's village" with stages and activity areas for children within the scope of the carnival, and emphasized that children will benefit from them to the fullest.

Stating that they made some changes this year to make the festival an international brand, Ersoy said:

“Starting from this year, as the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, we decided to implement a Culture Road Project, in which we will further strengthen the international identity of the Culture Road Festivals and give more space to events that will make our country and cities an international brand in the name of culture and arts. In other words, we are increasing the number of participating cities and aiming to increase the international awareness of our cities by including a lot of international and foreign events in these cities.”

Minister Ersoy invited citizens to the International Orange Blossom Carnival, which will last for 9 days.

Minister Ersoy Visited the Festival's Activities

Minister of Culture and Tourism Mehmet Ersoy also visited the events of the International Orange Blossom Carnival, which was held for the 12th time this year in Adana.

The carnival, which is the first stop of the "Turkey Cultural Road Festival" organized by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, started with various events.

Minister Ersoy visited the exhibition titled "Digital Art from Sketches to Pixels: Anatolia Edition" opened at Adana Museum Complex, examined the works and talked to the participants. sohbet He.

Cinema General Manager Birol Güven talked about the "My Dream Partner" application developed in cooperation with Turkcell with the aim of visually impaired people participating in social life more actively and independently.

After the introduction, Ersoy experienced the smartphone application that allows visually impaired people to perceive visual content and watch movies without any help when they go to the cinema.

Ersoy, whose eyes were covered with a sleeping band, watched the movie "The Last Supper", the audio description of which was made by the Ministry, prepared specifically for the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Republic of Turkey and of which Anadolu Agency is the global communication partner.

The free mobile phone application "My Dream Partner", developed in cooperation with the General Directorate of Cinema and Turkcell, functions to describe the scene to the visually impaired people who come to the movie theaters using audio description technology.

Announcements are also made for disabled people in movie theaters to say "please turn on your mobile phones".
