Touristic Train Services Start from Ankara to Diyarbakır and Tatvan!

Minister Uraloğlu said that they have made a revolution in every mode of transportation, especially railway, thanks to the investments and breakthroughs made since 2002 under the leadership of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan. Expressing that they introduced high-speed railway lines to Turkey as a result of the policies they followed, Uraloğlu underlined that they also made a major change in the existing railway lines.

Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Abdulkadir Uraloğlu said that the Ankara-Diyarbakır and Ankara-Tatvan touristic trains, which are alternatives to the Touristic Eastern Express, which is the favorite of travel lovers and art enthusiasts, will start to be operated by the TCDD General Directorate of Transportation in April. Stating that the tourist trains will operate until mid-June, Uraloğlu said, "With the two new lines, Ankara-Diyarbakır and Ankara-Tatvan tourist trains, which will be put into operation, both regional tourism will develop and our citizens will have the opportunity to see the cultural and historical values ​​more closely." Stating that the Ankara-Tatvan expedition will depart from Ankara on Wednesday, April 17, Uraloğlu stated that the tourist line between Ankara and Diyarbakır will make its first departure from Ankara on Friday, April 19.

Minister Uraloğlu emphasized that the vehicle fleet was rejuvenated with renewal and modernization works and said, “By increasing the service quality, train travel entered the daily life of our citizens and changed their transportation habits. In this context, with the increasing demand for trains operated on conventional lines in addition to high-speed trains, two new tourist trains will be operated to serve travel lovers.” he said.

Stating that the Ankara-Diyarbakır-Ankara Touristic Train, which will be operated on the Ankara-Diyarbakır route with a line length of 51 kilometers, will consist of 180 beds and 9 dining car with a capacity of 1 people, Uraloğlu said, “It will depart from Ankara at 19 on Friday, April 15.55, Diyarbakır.
