The Number of Free Internet Points in Kemeraltı Increased to 29

Izmir Metropolitan Municipality increased the number of free internet service points offered in the historical Kemeraltı Bazaar, which it completely renovated from its infrastructure to its superstructure, to 29. With the second stage work, a total of 4 kilometers of WizmirNet coverage area was reached.

Izmir Metropolitan Municipality continues its efforts to protect, preserve and pass on the historical Kemeraltı Bazaar, which is on the UNESCO World Heritage Temporary List, to future generations. Izmir Metropolitan Municipality, which continues to renew the historical bazaar from its infrastructure to its superstructure, is also expanding its WizmirNet free internet network. Within the scope of the project, Izmir Metropolitan Municipality has installed 2 service points on the 17-kilometer-long uninterrupted Kemeraltı Bazaar line, including Kızlarağası Inn, Ali Paşa Square, Balıkçılar Square, Synagogues Square, National Library Street, Anafartalar Street, and continues to increase the number of these points. The second phase study was carried out and the number of existing points was increased to 29.

4 kilometer coverage area

With the work, a more uninterrupted coverage area of ​​2 kilometers was provided, starting from Konak Multi-Storey Car Park and ending at Havra Street, which extends along National Library Street and Anafartalar Street. By including Cumhuriyet Boulevard and City Historical Park in the second stage study, a total of 4 kilometers of WizmirNet coverage area was reached in the Historical Kemeraltı Bazaar area.

More than 25 thousand people connected

Since the launch of the WizmirNet service, which provides users with access at a connection speed of 120 Mbps, more than 25 thousand people have connected to the system. During this period, a large amount of data was used, such as 2 thousand 53 GB download and 148 GB upload.
