Stating that Turkey's highest quality oil is produced in Gabar, Minister Bayraktar said, "As of today, we have reached 40 thousand barrels of daily production here." “Şırnak is now clearly the oil city, the oil capital of Turkey.” said. Minister Bayraktar also called President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and gave the good news.
After celebrating Eid al-Fitr with citizens in Hatay and Erzincan on the first day of Eid al-Fitr, Minister Bayraktar worked overtime in Şırnak on the second day of the Eid. Bayraktar congratulated the staff who continue to work 7/24 in the crude oil production field in Gabar and received information from the authorities about the production activities. Bayraktar later made a statement to the press about the oil production in Gabar. Bayraktar said in summary:
A DAY IN HISTORY: We came to Turkish Petroleum's Martyr Aybüke Yalçın and Martyr Esma Çevik oil fields to see the work on site and to celebrate the holidays with our friends here. Today is an exceptional day for us. We also celebrate Ramadan Feast. But at the same time, we are here today with a record in the history of the Republic. Thank God, as of today, we have reached 40 thousand barrels of daily production here. This is obviously a day that goes down in history as the day we produced the highest quality oil and the most oil in Turkey.
THANKS ON BEHALF OF THE NATION: First of all, I congratulate our brothers working here. They have great efforts. On behalf of our nation, I would like to express my thanks and gratitude to our security forces and gendarmerie who work day and night with them. OIL CITY ŞIRNAK: Today is an important day in the history of the Republic of Turkey. As of today, our total production in Turkey has exceeded 100 thousand barrels. Şırnak is now clearly the oil city and oil capital of Turkey. Hopefully we still have a way to go. When we came here on New Year's Eve, we said that our goal by the end of 2024 is to reach 100 thousand barrels per day. We work day and night for this. We have currently achieved this production in 33 wells. Our average production per well has exceeded 200 barrels. Therefore, hopefully we will reach these figures by the end of the year when we reach our target of 95 wells.
HAKKARI AND VAN ARE NEXT: This is extremely important to reduce Turkey's foreign dependency, especially in energy. Therefore, our work here will continue without interruption. Of course, we have new wells, new exploration wells. We will have new wells in Hakkari, again on the Van border, again this year. Hopefully, these production figures will go much further when we find reserves with the discoveries we will make from them.
DIRECTIONAL DRILLINGS: Here, we carry out this production at depths of 2 thousand 500 meters, sometimes 2 thousand 800 meters, but especially in the Martyr Lieutenant Mediterranean region, at depths of up to 4 thousand 500 meters. We do directional drilling. We carry out this production, a technically very important activity, with directional drillings at an angle of approximately 30 degrees, approximately one kilometer long.
35 KILOMETER LINE: With all these activities, today we transport this oil, this crude oil, with over 200 tankers. But with the 50-kilometer crude oil pipeline, approximately 35 percent of which is currently under construction, we will hopefully take this oil to BOTAŞ's İdil Station and from there, hopefully, we will deliver it to Ceyhan and Dörtyol.
REACHED 10 MILLION BARRELS IN TOTAL: We produce Turkey's highest quality oil here. As of September 13, 2021, our work here has brought us to a total oil production of approximately 10 million barrels. Nearly 3 thousand of our friends work here. Therefore, as these activities increase here, hopefully there will be a serious employment contribution to Şırnak and this region. This will bring the other ecosystem here, and indeed, this region, Gabar, Şırnak, which was once associated with terrorism, will now be remembered with wealth and increased employment. I hope it will continue to add strength and life to both this region and our country's economy.
ON THE OIL TRANSITION ROUTE: Şırnak is also an important oil transit route for Türkiye and the world. Because, as you know, the Iraq-Türkiye oil pipeline passes here. Hopefully, now in that oil pipeline, our own oil will be used for the world markets and Turkey's needs. Therefore, in this sense, this region will really develop and employment will be provided to more of our brothers and sisters.
HOLIDAY CELEBRATION: As the Ministry, we always follow and support these activities here 7/24. Hopefully, we will share new good news to our nation with new discoveries, both here and in the Black Sea, regarding our natural gas discoveries there. Today is Eid, we are celebrating this holiday in a sense by exceeding 40 thousand barrels. I congratulate you, our beloved nation, on your holiday. Our esteemed Governor, our deputy, and our security forces, as a whole team, are working here in great harmony. We will continue to do so from now on.
We Work Day and Night
Minister Bayraktar talked to President Erdoğan by phone and gave information about his investigations in Gabar. Bayraktar said, “Today is a special holiday for us. Thank God, today we exceeded 33 thousand barrels in 40 wells for the first time. "Hopefully, a team of approximately 100 thousand people and our security forces are working together here day and night to reach the 3 thousand barrel target set by your Excellency by the end of this year." he said.
