Required Documents and Application Process for Izmir Lesbos Expeditions Gate Visa

The procedures to be followed for the gate visa for the Izmir-Lesbos voyages launched by Izmir Metropolitan Municipality with the comfort of İZDENİZ in order to revitalize sea tourism have been determined. Passengers who will apply for a gate visa for the Ramadan Feast special flights and regular flights that will start on May 3 must contact İZDENİZ A.Ş. It is required to apply to the Sales Office at least 5 days in advance.

Izmir Metropolitan Municipality and İZDENİZ A.Ş. This year, interest in the Izmir-Lesbos flights, initiated by Izmir-Lesbos, is increasing with the visa application at the door. İZDENİZ A.Ş., which coordinates the efforts to ensure safe and comfortable travel for passengers throughout the travel period, will also facilitate the procedures for passengers in visa application at the door.

Appointment required

Passengers who will travel with a visa on arrival must make an appointment by calling the İZDENİZ Sales Office at "0552 035 88 60" before applying. Passengers who will apply for a gate visa are required to submit all required documents to the İZDENIZ Sales Office at least 5 days before the date of passage to Lesbos Island.

Required documents

The documents required for a gate visa are as follows:

  • 2 color biometric photographs,
  • Photocopy of front and back ID card,
  • Passport photocopy (There must be photocopies of the page with pictures, old visas, and the pages showing entry and exit since the date of receipt of the last visa. Passport validity period should not be less than 3 months and 7 days, and should not be older than ten years)
  • Paid hotel reservation document (The reservation document must include the names of the persons who will receive a visa)
  • Ferry tickets showing departure and return dates (Return tickets are not accepted with open dates)
  • Telephone, profession and residence information (A note in the sent document file is sufficient)
  • Door Visa Application Form, completed completely, in capital letters and legibly, and signed in blue pen on the last page.

Personal application with visa fee required

Passengers who complete the application documents must personally deliver the gate visa fee, which is 80 Euros per person, to the IZMIR MARINA-IZDENIZ Sales Office between 09.00 and 17.00 on weekdays. The same documents are valid for children aged 0-18, and the visa fee is 20 Euros per person. Door visa can be issued for a maximum of 6 nights, 7 days and single entry. It is only valid for the island where the ticket was purchased, it is not possible to pass to another island with the same visa.

In what cases can a gate visa be refused?

Door visas will not be granted to people who have a Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) entry stamp in their passports and whose applications for a Schengen visa have previously been rejected. Only people with a Republic of Turkey passport will be able to benefit from the gate visa. If the passenger does not participate in the voyage for any reason, the visa application will be rejected and no refund will be made. If the visa is rejected by the Greek police, the 80 Euro service and fee fee will not be refunded to the passenger. Applications of those who apply with incomplete documents will not be accepted, and all responsibility will belong to the passenger.

This year, 41 voyages will be made with two ships

Izmir-Lesbos 2024 summer term flights will start on May 3, 2024 and end on September 27, 2024. İhsan Alyanak Ship, which has the distinction of being the first passenger ship to fly its flag in international waters by departing from Izmir Port in more than 20 years, is the second high-speed ship of İZDENİZ this year. Dr. Aziz Sancar Ship will accompany you. This year, the number of flights will be increased by 143 percent and there will be 41 flights throughout the season. This number may increase with additional flights in line with increasing demand. The sailings will depart from Izmir Alsancak Port every Wednesday and Friday at 08.30, and return from Lesbos Port every Friday and Sunday at 17.00. The distance from Lesbos Port to Izmir Alsancak Port is 64 nautical miles. Depending on weather and sea conditions, the journey will take 2 hours and 30 minutes.

Special flights for Ramadan Feast

İZDENİZ has planned a special voyage for the upcoming Ramadan Feast. In order for citizens to make the most of their holidays, flights will be organized from Alsancak on Tuesday, April 9, 2024 and Friday, April 12, and from Lesbos on Thursday, April 11 and Sunday, April 14. Weekend price tariffs will be valid for holiday special flights.

Youth 50 percent discount

2024 ticket prices are for flights departing on Friday (Friday departure - Sunday return), 0-7 years old 5 Euro one way, 8 Euro round trip, 8-18 years old 22,5 Euro one way, 34 Euro round trip, full ticket single. It was determined as 45 Euros one way and 68 Euros round trip. Ticket prices for flights departing on Wednesdays (departure on Wednesday - return on Friday) are 0-7 years old 5 Euros one way, 8 Euros round trip, 8 Euros one way for 18 to 20 years old, 30 Euros round trip, full ticket 40 Euros one way, Round trip was determined to be 60 Euros.

Ticket sales for the Izmir-Lesbos flights, for which Izmir residents are already making holiday plans, have started. Ferry tickets are on sale online via the website Bilet.izdeniz.com.tr. Voyage tickets can also be purchased from the İZDENİZ ticket sales office in Izmir Port and from the authorized agencies on the website.

Passengers who wish to participate in the Izmir-Lesbos expeditions will be able to participate with their bicycles, provided that they notify them when booking their tickets. İhsan Alyanak and Prof. Dr. Aziz Sancar Cruise Ships will be able to accept up to 10 bicycle passengers.
