New Name for Two Stops in Front of Nilüfer District Health Directorate

With the contributions of Bursa Provincial Health Directorate, the two bus stops in front of the District Directorate have been permanently renamed KETEM in order to increase cancer screening awareness among citizens and to enable citizens who want to have a scan to easily reach KETEM (Cancer Early Diagnosis Screening and Training Center) within the Nilüfer District Health Directorate. Changed to -1 and KETEM-2.

In this context, the event held in front of Nilüfer District Health Directorate; Bursa Provincial Health Directorate Deputy Head of Public Health Services Dr. Yunuzu Arslan, Nilüfer District Health Director, Specialist. Dr. İsmail Kaba, medical personnel and representatives of various non-governmental organizations attended. Following the speeches at the ceremony, a ribbon cutting was held in front of the newly named stops.

Speaking at the ceremony, Deputy Director of Public Health Services of Bursa Provincial Health Directorate, Dr. Yunuzu Arslan stated that it is vital for citizens to have regular cancer screenings for early diagnosis. Stating that KETEMs are of great importance in the fight against cancer in Bursa, Dr. Arslan said, “'Early Diagnosis Saves Lives!' in our KETEM units in our city. Screening services for breast, colorectal and cervical cancers are provided free of charge. Thanks to screenings, our chances of detecting cancer early and treating the person increase. By performing these scans in our KETEM unit within our District Health Directorate, we detected cancer in many citizens at an early stage. On this occasion, we permanently changed the name of the stops in front of the District Health Directorate to KETEM-1 and KETEM-2 in order to raise awareness and to make it easier for our citizens who want to come here to reach. "I would like to thank our District Health Director and all those who contributed," he said.

Finally, Dr. stated that there are KETEM units in 14 centers in Bursa. Arslan said, “Our citizens can learn the address of the KETEM unit closest to them from the website of our Provincial Health Directorate. "We invite all our citizens to get their scans before it's too late," he said.
