Mineral Waters in Turkey are under Ministry Control!

TMMOB Chamber of Food Engineers Bursa Branch made a statement regarding the allegations of 'boron' in mineral water.

Serkan Durmuş, President of TMMOB Chamber of Food Engineers, stated in the statement that the boron mineral found in mineral waters is subject to different restrictions in different countries and this may cause problems in exports.

Emphasizing that the mineral waters produced in Turkey are under the supervision and control of the Ministry of Health and do not pose any danger to human health, Durmuş also reminded that in order to prevent information pollution in food, the public should not trust the information coming from people without a scientific background and the correct information should be obtained from authorized institutions. .

Serkan Durmuş stated that data has been revealed that even Mineral Waters containing minerals at the highest limit can only lead to intake above the safe limit and health-threatening factors at a daily consumption of 2 L. He said, "Enterprises that produce mineral water are subject to the inspection and control activities of the Ministry of Health and all businesses are subject to certain regulations." Samples are taken at regular intervals and analyzed. Here, it would be a very appropriate approach for the Ministry of Health to share the analysis and inspection reports of the company involved in the matter with the public.
Finally, the public's conscience should be clear and it should be known that the current situation does not pose a threat to human health. "The fight against information pollution in food will only be possible with the support of all our people, and information received from people without a scientific background should not be relied upon and correct information should be obtained from the right place by using common sense," he said.
