There is good news about the Rail System Line that Trabzon residents have been waiting for many years! The transfer protocol of the Trabzon Rail System Line, which has been awaited for many years in Trabzon, was signed between the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure and Trabzon Metropolitan Municipality.

The transfer protocol of the Rail System Line, which is one of the projects that Trabzon has been waiting for for years, was signed. Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure Infrastructure Investments General Manager Yalçın Eyigün and Trabzon Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ahmet Metin Genç attended the transfer protocol ceremony held in Trabzon Metropolitan Municipality. The project, which will be undertaken by the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure with the decision published in the Official Gazette with the signature of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, will also be Turkey's longest rail system with a single protocol. The Trabzon Rail System Line, which will start with 8.7 kilometers in the first stage and then have a length of 32 kilometers, is aimed to be put into service in 2028.

Making a speech at the transfer protocol, Trabzon Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ahmet Metin Genç stated that they started the rail system works quickly and said, “Our project aims to serve the area with the highest circulation in our city, where 824 thousand people live in general, especially in Akçaabat, Yomra and Ortahisar, where 500 thousand people live.” It happens together. In other words, it is planned between Akçaabat and Yomra. However, the initial phase of our project will be a more busy area with the commissioning of our city hospital. Hopefully, we will start the phase with the busiest area in Akyazı-Meydan, that is, an area of 8.7 km. Immediately afterwards, we will consider the 16 km part of Akyazı-Airport axis at Ortahisar scale at our university, and then we hope to continue our project in the form of our Akçaabat connection and Yomra connection. Of course, the excuse for the services provided to all cities is the will, determination and love of our leader, who is dedicated to serving his country, his nation and his country. If you remember, our esteemed President brought this project to the agenda during his visit to Trabzon and his meeting with the citizens, and in a sense, we quickly started this work by prioritizing this project in our city and meeting the expectations in the city.”

Yalçın Eyigün, General Manager of Infrastructure Investments of the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure, said in his speech: The need for a rail system emerged with the update of the transportation master plan in Trabzon. With a population of over 800 thousand, everyone has the opportunity to come to the city centre. A lot of planning was required here. In this sense, there are 970 kilometers of rail system operations in Turkey to date. Our ministry carried out 433 kilometers of this. In today's protocol, the longest rail system work with a single protocol begins for Trabzon. When we look at both ends, we are talking about 32 kilometers. There are 61 kilometers of rail system lines under construction in other cities. "As we are signing today, we hope that our studies, projects and drillings will be completed within 1-1.5 years, and we hope to bring it to the construction stage in 2025," he said.

The project is aimed to be completed in 2028 in Trabzon, where Turkey's longest rail system will be built with a single protocol.
