Heart-warming moments were experienced while Izmir Metropolitan Municipality Fire Department teams were responding to a house fire in Gaziemir. Firefighters performed heart massage on the cat, which was affected by the smoke and whose heart stopped, and brought it back to life. Another rescue operation was carried out in Konak. The teams gave water to the hedgehog stuck between the wire fences, then cut the wires and freed the animal.
Izmir Metropolitan Municipality Fire Department teams quickly moved to the area after receiving a fire report in Gaziemir Atıf Bey District. While the teams were responding to a fire on the third floor of an apartment building, the homeowner said his cat was left inside. While Izmir Fire Department was trying to control the fire, it started to search for the cat. When they found the cat, firefighters realized that its heart had stopped and performed heart massage for minutes to bring it back to life. The teams were overjoyed when the cat regained consciousness. The teams gave the cat air with a fresh air respirator and made it drink water, and then handed the animal over to its owner. It was learned that the cat was taken to the veterinarian and was in good health.

Another rescue operation was carried out in Konak Güzelyalı. Upon notice, Izmir Metropolitan Municipality fire department personnel came to the rescue of a hedgehog stuck between wire fences on 40th Street. The teams first made the hedgehog, which could not move because it was stuck, drink water, and then cut the wires, allowing the animal to regain its freedom.
