Mayor Altay wished all the elected mayors and council members good luck in their new duties and said, “Konya is one of the cities where unity, solidarity and brotherhood are highest. Hopefully, together we will achieve great things for Konya. We have provided important services to our city in the past 5 years with our understanding of 'Konya Model Municipality'. We have ongoing work both in the center and in our districts. Hopefully, we will work together to complete them as soon as possible and fulfill the promises we made in the new period. Our Metropolitan Assembly has carried out exemplary work for the whole of Turkey so far. I hope that we will do important things together from now on. We have made significant efforts to realize Konya's dreams. "We have implemented many important services in our districts, from infrastructure to superstructure," he said.
“Hopefully, WE WILL CONTINUE THE PROCESSES RELATED TO THE WORKS THAT WE PROMISED AFTER 2025”
President Altay reminded that Konya, the Seljuk's mansion, served as the capital for 200 years and that they served Turkey's largest geography with an area of 42 thousand square kilometers, and continued as follows:
“When the New Metropolitan Law was introduced in 2014, the most discussed city was Konya. There was discussion about how these services would be carried out in such a large geography, but a systematic approach was formed in the intervening 10 years. Our Metropolitan Municipality has Science Works structures in the regions. Additionally, our water administration has structures in the regions. A standard regarding services began to emerge. Therefore, we will continue to make our own plans regarding the issues within our field of duty, in consultation with you, and to carry out the work within our area of responsibility. Currently, our waste water treatment facilities, road construction works and building construction works are continuing. Our planning for 2024 will continue in this way. Hopefully, after 2025, we will continue the new work we will do and the processes related to the work we promised in the field without interruption. We made a serious effort to increase Konya's share of tourism, especially during this period; both in the center and in our districts. Some of our districts have very high tourism potential. Therefore, we will continue to work on promoting the city, promoting these districts, especially nationally, and increasing their tourism potential. More than 50 million people visit our country, so people who come to Konya make a serious contribution to our economy.”

On the other hand, Mayor Altay emphasized that they proudly represent Konya not only in Turkey, but also in the World Municipalities Union, the Turkish World Municipalities Union and the International Agricultural Cities Association, and said, "Hopefully, these works and our efforts will continue increasingly in the coming period." . The most important agenda of our Metropolitan Assembly is to serve the city. Therefore, even though we come from different political views and different political structures, our only goal is to serve Konya. As the Metropolitan Municipality, we will stand behind every good work. I hope the new era will be beneficial. "I hope that we will provide important services to our city in the new period by taking into account our unity, solidarity and brotherhood relations and carry out exemplary work together for the whole of Turkey with our understanding of 'Konya Model Municipality'," he concluded his speech.
As a result of the voting held after Mayor Altay's speech, Mustafa Uzbaş became the First Deputy Speaker of the Assembly and Mehmet Sevim became the Second Deputy Speaker. At the meeting, Council Presidential Council Clerk Members, Municipal Council Members and Specialized Commissions were determined and their members were elected.
