Awards were given to the athletes who competed and ranked in the 42 kilometer Marathon Izmir Avek, organized for the fifth time this year by Izmir Metropolitan Municipality.

"Turkey's Fastest Marathon" Marathon Izmir Avek, organized for the fifth time this year by Izmir Metropolitan Municipality, was run with the participation of 38 elite athletes from 600 countries. The award ceremony of the 42-kilometer race was held in Kültürpark. In men's category, Kenyan Vitalis Kibiwot took the first place with a time of 2 hours, 11 minutes and 8 seconds, while Ethiopian Sendeku Alelgn came second with a time of 2 hours, 13 minutes and 42 seconds, and Kenyan Silas Kurui took the third place with a time of 2 hours, 13 minutes and 47 seconds. Ethiopian Aamelmal Tagel won the women's race in the 42-kilometer race with a time of 2 hours, 37 minutes and 26 seconds. Ethiopian Bekelech Bedada came second with 2 hours 42 minutes 10 seconds, and Japanese Suguru Oktabe came third with 2 hours 43 minutes 16 seconds.
