The 3rd China National Reading Conference started today in Kunming, the center of Yunnan province. Li Shulei, Member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China (CCP) Central Committee and Head of the Publicity Department of the CPC Central Committee, attended the opening ceremony of the conference and made a speech.
Participants argued that the development of culture, the strengthening of the country and the rise of the nation are inextricably linked with the cultural accumulation and spiritual power provided by reading.
The conference, whose main theme is "Building a book-loving society and sharing modern civilization", aims to spread the love of reading, reading good books and good reading habits in society.
