Maiden's Tower Reopened to Visitors as of March 1

The Presidency's Directorate of Communications Counter Disinformation Center reported that the Maiden's Tower, which started to be restored in 2021, was reopened to visitors as of March 1.

In the statement made by the Center for Combating Disinformation, it was stated that the Maiden's Tower, which started to be restored in 2021, was reopened to visitors as of March 1.

Within the scope of the completed restoration works, the non-original roof additions in the tower and castle section were removed and restored to their original state.

”The historical body walls of the building were strengthened with invisible stainless steel tensioners and the original dendan walls of the castle section were revealed. The walls and dome were created in accordance with the original, using wooden carriers on the balcony floor frame. The dome is covered with lead, its original material. During the restoration works, reinforcement was made around the island with steel-concrete integrated piles. Transportation to the tower will be provided from Karaköy Pier. Boat trips will be carried out every half hour between 9:30 and 17:00 every day.
