Uraloğlu pointed out that with the launch of the Southeastern Anatolia Project, Diyarbakır's fertile lands, known as the "Fertile Crescent", pioneered the development of agriculture and agriculture-based industry, and said, "Diyarbakır, with its geographical location, easy access to trade centers, dynamic and young population and unique historical texture. It continues its development with the tourism potential it provides. Therefore, strengthening Diyarbakır's transportation network is very important for our country. Since 2002, as the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure, we have invested 57 billion 652 million liras for the transportation and communication infrastructure of Diyarbakır. "We increased the length of the divided road from 44 kilometers to 456 kilometers, and the length of the bituminous hot mixture paved road from 2 kilometers to 285 kilometers," he said. Explaining that they have put into service many important highway projects such as Diyarbakır-Mardin Road, Diyarbakır-Şanlıurfa Road, Uraloğlu also underlined that they built 9 bridges with a length of 852 thousand 97 meters in Diyarbakır.

“15 Projects Worth 618 Billion 12 Million Liras Are Continued”

Minister Uraloğlu stated that they are continuing 15 separate highway projects in Diyarbakır with a project amount of 618 billion 12 million lira, and mentioned that the Diyarbakır-Bismil-Batman road, which is among these projects and opened today, connects the two cities, and said, "As it is known, Diyarbakır is connected to Batman. The 66 km long Bismil-Batman route, which connects the city to Istanbul, passes through the Bismil plain. On our road, which is used by an average of 11 thousand vehicles daily, vehicle traffic increases significantly, especially during periods when agricultural activities are intense. "We have built 3 modern roundabouts, 3 intersections with refuge pockets, 7 level intersections, 7 underpasses and 800 culverts with a length of 60 meters on this road that has been put into service," he said.

“Savings of 57 Million Liras a Year”

Uraloğlu said that they have established faster and more economical transportation of agricultural products produced in the GAP Region via Diyarbakır-Bismil-Batman road, and emphasized that they will contribute to the development of logistics operations in the region with the project. Uraloğlu said, “With our method, we will save a total of 33 million lira annually, including 24 million lira from time and 57 million lira from fuel. We will contribute to the protection of nature by reducing the carbon emissions of vehicles that harm the environment by 3 thousand tons. "We are planning to hold the hot coating tender for the remaining 12,4 km long surface-coated section of our road as soon as possible," he said.

Minister Uraloğlu stated that the works, including infrastructure, are continuing on the connection and development roads of the Earthquake Residences, which are under construction in Bağlar district. In this context, Uraloğlu explained that they have manufactured different level intersections that will provide connection to the 25,9 km long Diyarbakır-Şanlıurfa road, and said, “A total of 9 thousand 500 meters of rainwater lines, 7 thousand meters of waste water production and 800 meters of drinking water lines have been completed. We aim to complete the 7,3 km section by the end of March. "We will finish the remaining part this year and put it at the service of our citizens," he said.
