China Eastern Airlines Opens Third Line of C919 Aircraft

China Eastern Airlines officially opened the third commercial flight line of the C919 passenger aircraft developed by China's own resources. As of March 8, the line between Shanghai Hongqiao Airport and Xi'an Xianyang Airport started to serve its passengers.

The first of the previously opened lines was between Shanghai Hongqiao Airport and Tianfu Airport in Chengdu, the center of Sichuan province. The second line started with flights between Shanghai Hongqiao Airport and Beijing Daxing Airport.

After the commercial operation of the first C919 passenger aircraft started on May 28, 2023, China Eastern Airlines carried out a total of more than 29 hours of commercial flights with its C919 fleet until February 3 of this year. During this period, 272 commercial flights were made and more than 131 thousand passengers were transported.
