Transportation Investments Continue at Full Speed in Sivas

Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Abdulkadir Uraloğlu stated that they have invested 22 billion lira in Sivas in 171 years and that they continue the construction of 41,5 highway projects worth approximately 21 billion lira and said, “We attach great importance to the transportation and communication infrastructure of Sivas and follow all investments. " said.

Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Abdulkadir Uraloğlu spoke at the Mass Opening Ceremony in Sivas. He reminded that Sivas, which connects the Central Black Sea coast to the inner parts and the Southeast in the north-south direction with its geographical location, is also on the D-200 State Highway route, which crosses Anatolia from the Iranian border to Çanakkale in the east-west direction. Emphasizing that Sivas is a bridge between all land and railway routes of Turkey due to its location, Uraloğlu said that he is closely following all projects that will strengthen Sivas' transportation network. Underlining that they are working intensively for the transportation and communication investments of Sivas, Uraloğlu said, “To date, we have invested approximately 171 billion liras for the transportation and communication infrastructure of Sivas. We increased the length of the divided road, which was 2002 kilometers in 24, to 836 kilometers, and the length of the bituminous hot mixture paved road, which was 7 kilometers, to 585 kilometers. "We connected Sivas to Erzincan, Kayseri, Tokat, Yozgat and Kahramanmaraş with divided roads," he said. Uraloğlu also underlined that a total economic gain of 253 million lira will be provided, including 196 million lira with the Yağdonduran Tunnel and 450 million lira with the Numune Hospital Different Level Junction.

41 Highway Project Costing 404 Billion 21 Million Liras

Minister Uraloğlu underlined that they have implemented many projects such as the Şarkışla-Kaynar, Hafik-Doğanşar, Sivas-Çamlıbel-Tokat, Reşadiye-Gölova-İmranlı Junction roads, and the repair of the Eğri Bridge on the Sivas Karayün Celalli Road and the historical Fadlum Bridge on the Old Sivas-Malatya road. He also explained what he did. Pointing out that there were no tunnels in Sivas 22 years ago, Uraloğlu said, “We built 3,8 tunnels with a length of 3 km. We are currently continuing 41 separate highway projects with a project cost of 404 billion 21 million lira. "Two of the most important of these are our Yağdonduran Tunnel and Connection Road and Numune Hospital Bridge Junction projects, for which we came together," he said.

Sivas and Malatya Connected with High Standard Road

Uraloğlu explained that the Yağdonduran Pass in Sivas is located at an altitude of 1.750 meters and the 1.567-meter-long Yağdonduran Tunnel, built over the pass, was built as a double tube with bituminous hot mixture coating and divided road standard. Pointing out that the tunnel, which started at 1.674 meters elevation, continued with a 2 percent slope and ended at 1.705 meters elevation, Uraloğlu pointed out that the total length of the tunnel project reached 5 kilometers, including the connection roads. Emphasizing that transportation, which is occasionally disrupted during the winter months due to heavy snowfall, icing and blizzards, will become uninterrupted with the comfort of the tunnel, Uraloğlu said:

“We have established faster and safer transportation on the route, which is difficult to overcome, especially by heavy vehicle traffic, first climbing and then descending. We brought the sharp bends and steep ramps on the route to standards. In addition to the Sivas-Malatya transportation, we established a high-standard highway connection between the south and north of our country, enabling faster transportation of industrial, commercial and agricultural products. Thanks to the construction of the Yağdonduran Tunnel and the work carried out on the existing road, we shortened the route by 2,2 kilometers and reduced the travel time from 40 minutes to 30 minutes. Thus, with this method, we will save a total of 110,4 million lira annually, including 142,7 million lira from time and 253,1 million lira from fuel. "We will contribute to the protection of nature by reducing the carbon emissions of vehicles that harm the environment by 10 thousand 200 tons."

Numune Hospital's Different Level Intersection Will Reduce 396 Tons of Emission

Pointing out that Sivas has a serious transit traffic load as well as urban traffic, Uraloğlu said that for this reason, they also built the Numune Hospital Different Level Interchange at the intersection of the route connecting Sivas city center and Numune Hospital with the D-200 State Road. Explaining that nearly 40 thousand vehicles pass every day and the stop-and-go traffic with signalization has been made uninterrupted, Uraloğlu said, “We have ensured safe and comfortable access of our patients, healthcare personnel and visitors to Numune Hospital. We have established rapid transportation of ambulances and patient transport vehicles to the hospital, especially in emergency situations where time is needed. With our intersection, we will save a total of 191 million lira annually, including 5 million lira from time and 196 million lira from fuel. "We will contribute to the protection of nature by reducing the carbon emissions of vehicles that harm the environment by 396 tons," he said.

2 Major Projects from Sivas Municipality

Reminding that Sivas Municipality has carried out highway projects one by one that will ease urban traffic, Uraloğlu said that Sivas Municipality has brought two major projects to Sivas, namely Recep Tayyip Erdoğan Boulevard and Alibaba-Kılavuz Connection Road. Stating that transportation to Cumhuriyet University has been made much shorter, easier and more comfortable with Recep Tayyip Erdoğan Boulevard, Minister Uraloğlu said, “With the Alibaba-Kılavuz Connection Road, it connected Âşık Veysel Boulevard in Alibaba District and Necmettin Erbakan Boulevard in Rehber.” . "In addition, the running and cycling path created along the Boulevard allowed citizens to do sports in the region," he said.
