Foundations Laid for Karakoyunlu Neighborhood Urban Transformation Project

With the initiatives and outstanding efforts of Şanlıurfa Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Zeynel Abidin Beyazgül, who has brought about change and transformation in every field in Şanlıurfa since the day he took office, the Karakoyunlu District Urban Transformation project has been carried out.
The first foundations of 454 independent units were laid with the participation of Minister of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change Mehmet Özhaseki. Mayor Beyazgül noted that they will continue to clear Şanlıurfa and its districts from slums and dilapidated buildings.

The Karakoyunlu Neighborhood Urban Transformation Project, which is located in the middle of the city's important attraction areas but contains slums and dilapidated buildings, was initiated by Şanlıurfa Metropolitan Municipality and an agreement and compromise was reached with 9 independent unit owners from 687 independent buildings in a very short time of 630 months.

Minister Özhaseki attended the groundbreaking ceremony of a total of 3 thousand 123 houses, the construction of which started in Şanlıurfa central Karakoyun District, rural Aşık District and Suruç district. Minister Özhaseki personally attended the groundbreaking ceremony of 758 houses, the construction of which started in Âşık District, and accompanied the groundbreaking ceremony of steel village houses in Şanlıurfa central Karakoyun District and Suruç district via teleconference and accompanied the laying of the foundations with prayers.

The groundbreaking ceremony was held with the participation of the Minister of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change, Mehmet Özhaseki, and the first foundations of 454 independent units were laid and their construction started. Speaking at the ceremony, Şanlıurfa Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Zeynel Abidin Beyazgül stated that they carried out expropriations and urban transformations all over the city and thanked Minister Özhaseki for his support.

Mayor Beyazgül said, “We are currently in Karakoyunlu District of Eyyübiye district. This entire place was a slum and a collapsed area of ​​the city. With the resources of our municipality, an agreement and compromise was reached with 687 independent unit owners from 630 independent buildings. We started the construction of 454 houses. With God's permission, a significant part of Şanlıurfa and our districts consist of slums and collapsed areas. We need you very much. Ending these collapsed areas is our biggest project. Again, as Şanlıurfa Metropolitan Municipality, we rolled up our sleeves to build 2500 houses in Aşık – Öğütçü. We laid the foundations of 300 houses. Currently, these houses are on the 3rd and 4th floors. The support you have given us so far has been very important. The issues you explained here today were very important to us. We expect your support from now on for the transformation of both our city and our districts.” he said.

Minister Özhaseki connected via teleconference and accompanied the laying of the foundations of the Karakoyunlu District Urban Transformation project with prayers. Wishing success to Şanlıurfa Metropolitan Municipality and Mayor Beyazgül in their work, Minister of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change Mehmet Özhaseki also signaled that investments and services will continue to increase in Şanlıurfa. Following the speeches, the groundbreaking took place for 630 of 454 houses in the Karakoyunlu District Urban Transformation project, with the own resources of Şanlıurfa Metropolitan Municipality and its own vehicles, teams and equipment.
