Kırşehir will be connected to Cappadocia

Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Abdulkadir Uraloğlu, who went to Kırşehir to participate in a series of programs today, visited Kırşehir Governor Hüdayar Mete Buhara. A rug and a record by Neşet Ertaş were presented to Minister Uraloğlu.

Minister Uraloğlu, in his statement to journalists before his visit to Kırşehir Ahilik Museum, said that they are striving for the growth of Turkey's commercial activities.

Emphasizing that it is not possible to be politically strong without being economically strong on the world stage, Uraloğlu stated that trade is the lifeblood of the economy.

Stating that investments in the field of transportation and communication play a major role in economic success, Minister Uraloğlu said, “A strong transportation infrastructure is the primary condition for economic growth. Safe, fast and easy transportation is the most important component of trade, production and export. "Every new road built adds life to the employment, production, trade and cultural life of the place it passes through." he said.

Minister Uraloğlu pointed out that 22 billion dollars have been invested in transportation and communication infrastructure in the last 275 years under the leadership of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.

Explaining that they increased the length of divided roads, which was 2002 thousand 6 kilometers in 100, to approximately 29 thousand 400 kilometers, Uraloğlu said, “We increased the number of cities connected by divided roads from 6 to 77. We increased the total bridge length, which was 2002 kilometers in 311, to 774 kilometers. We increased our tunnel length from 50 kilometers to 753 kilometers. We increased our highway network from 1714 kilometers to 3 thousand 726 kilometers. We have implemented giant highway projects such as Yavuz Sultan Selim, 1915 Çanakkale and Osmangazi bridges, Eurasia Tunnel and Northern Marmara, Istanbul-Izmir, Ankara-Niğde highways. We increased our railway network from 10 thousand 948 kilometers to 13 thousand 919 kilometers. We provided uninterrupted transportation from East Asia to Western Europe and from Beijing to London with Marmaray and the Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railway line, which connects the Asian and European continents under the Bosphorus. These projects formed the most important part of the modern Silk Road.” he said.

Minister Uraloğlu reminded that they have increased the number of active airports from 2002 to 26 since 57, and stated that they have increased the number of international maritime ports from 152 to 190. Underlining that they have made major investments in communication infrastructure, Uraloğlu said that they aim to send our TÜRKSAT 6A satellite into orbit in June.

Referring to the investments in Kırşehir, Uraloğlu stated that they have invested approximately 22 billion lira in the transportation and communication infrastructure of Kırşehir in the last 14,5 years.

Uraloğlu stated that he would give 2 good news to Kırşehir and said, “We are starting our 20 kilometer long Kırşehir Ring Road works, the first of which we have included in our investment program and whose project we have approved. We will tender the 10,5 kilometer section between the highway junction and the terminal junction, which is a priority request in our project, on March 18. There are 7 different level intersections within the project, and 5 of them will be built within the scope of the section we will tender. Our second good news is the 38-kilometer-long Tuzköy-Kesikköprü road project, which will provide transportation from Kırşehir to Cappadocia Airport in Nevşehir. We put the project on the agenda of our ministry. "We foresee an investment cost of approximately 1,3 billion lira for our project, which we will include in the investment program as soon as possible," he said.
