'Earthquake Workshop' Held for Teachers in Eskişehir

A teacher workshop was held within the scope of Earthquake Week activities in cooperation with Eskişehir Metropolitan Municipality Disaster Affairs Department (AFKOM) and Child Rights Unit.

The 1-7 March Earthquake Week activities, organized in cooperation with Eskişehir Metropolitan Municipality Disaster Affairs Department (AFKOM) and Child Rights Unit, completed with a teacher workshop.

In order to reach more students by creating earthquake awareness among teachers and teacher candidates, a workshop titled "Disaster Resistant Structures with STEM" was held at the Social Library for all branch teachers within the scope of March 1-7 Earthquake Week.

Metropolitan Municipality Disaster Affairs Department (AFKOM) instructor staff explained the disaster gains in the teaching programs, Turkey's earthquake location, what to do before, during and after the earthquake, to teachers and teacher candidates in the workshop. After the information, the participants were divided into groups and competed with each other to realize the most earthquake-resistant building designs in the workshop based on the STEM approach.
