Considering the inadequacy of neighborhood mosques when there is more than one funeral and the need for a large area mosque where funeral prayers can be performed, the Seyitgazi road, which was started by taking into account the "100th" at the main entrance of Asri Cemetery. Making the opening speech of the ceremony, Eskişehir Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Prof. Dr. Yılmaz Büyükerşen said, “To my citizens who were born and raised in this ancient city where I was born and grew up, or who chose to live here and immigrated, and even to my citizens who continue their lives in Europe and other countries, firstly as an academician teacher and, for the last 25 years, as a Metropolitan Municipality Mayor, I thank God that I have come to this day in the peace of serving. On this holy day of Ramadan, I am handing over the 100th Anniversary Mosque and Additional Facilities, the last service investment of my presidency, to you, the people of Eskişehir. This investment was considered as an investment that would serve the developing Ihlamurkent and Vadişehir neighborhoods in the southern region of our city and the entire city. As you will see during our tour after performing the Friday prayer, the facility is located on an area of 15 thousand 626 m². 8 million 886 thousand 739 TL was spent from the Municipality Budget for the three-year construction. Apart from the closed and semi-open large areas for worship and multiple funeral prayers, outbuildings and areas where hygiene is taken into account, need areas, ablution areas, administration building, condolence house, multiple funeral homes for men and women, morgues, automobiles, buses, funeral transportation vehicles. This facility, where indoor and outdoor car parks, garages, in short, all kinds of infrastructure and needs are considered, was designed for the first time in Eskişehir by a young female architect, Mr. Simge Battal and her teammates. “I thank them.” she said.
Büyükerşen said, “Mosque and Facilities are Serdal Aksoy İnşaat A.Ş. operating in Ankara. Completed by. It took its final form with the support of our municipality's architects, engineers and urban planners and the workers of the Parks and Gardens, Construction and Maintenance Workshops. The wooden door of the mosque with the "Read" command on it was specially made and given as a gift by Ali Gence, a valuable wood carving artist who lives in Gölcük. As you can see, in the interior and exterior architecture of the mosque, in addition to simplicity and the dominance of white color, "Kufic Script" patterns, which have a special place in Islamic art, and the expressions of Allah, the Prophet and gratitude were used. I am at peace to say goodbye to you with this project on the 100th anniversary of our Republic and at the end of your presidential duties. On this occasion, I commemorate with respect and mercy the founder of our Republic, Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, his comrades in arms, and our security forces who recently gave their lives to protect us, and I wish God's mercy to the dead of our municipality's members and workers, as well as those who voluntarily participated in the needs of our mosque with various gifts and aid. . Republican People's Party (CHP) Chairman Özgür Özel also said in his speech: "Months ago, my teacher Yılmaz (Büyükerşen) asked me, 'How are you with the mosque and prayer?' asked. And I said, 'I'll go to the Eid prayer, I'll go to the Friday prayer.' 'Can you spare the first Friday of Ramadan for me?' said. 'I said sure, what will we do?' "We will open a mosque, finally, I will open it and entrust the 100th Year Mosque to Eskişehir, and then I will hand over my duty," he said. We are in the peace and happiness of entering through the door that says "read now" and performing the first Friday prayer of Ramadan with our teacher. Those who saved this country 100 years ago established the Presidency of Religious Affairs in this country. The first President of Religious Affairs was Börekçi, the Mufti of Ankara at the time. While some people were saying that it was obligatory to kill Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk when he came to Anatolia and giving such fatwas, Börekçi was giving the fatwa to join the War of Independence and to protect Atatürk and save the country with Atatürk. When Atatürk established the Presidency of Religious Affairs, so that religious and state affairs could be carried out properly, for people's freedom of worship and belief, he appointed our Ankara Mufti Börekçi as the first Presidency of Religious Affairs. May God have mercy on them all. I once again wish God's mercy to those who lost their lives in the War of Independence, and to our martyrs who gave their lives so that the calls to prayer would not stop, the flags would not come down, and the country would not be divided in this country since then. We know that our flag will fly over this country forever, symbolizing our sovereignty, and the call to prayer of our religion, our adhans recited 5 times a day, will continue to be recited in this country thanks to the efforts of Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, his friends and everyone who protects the Republic they entrusted to us.” said.
Stating that Eskişehir Metropolitan Municipality's opening of a mosque should be an example for other CHP municipalities, Özel said, "I would like to thank my teacher and his team for bringing such a work to Eskişehir and for providing such an integrated complex that will be an example for all CHP mayors." he said.
After Özel's speech, the 100th Year Mosque and Facilities were opened with prayers. After the opening, the first Friday prayer of Ramadan was performed in the mosque.
