8 suspects were detained in the operation carried out in Birecik and Hilvan districts within the scope of Şanlıurfa Provincial Gendarmerie Command's Fight against Narcotic Crimes.
In the operation carried out in Birecik and Hilvan districts of Şanlıurfa, a Gendarmerie Control Point was established in cooperation with Şanlıurfa Provincial Gendarmerie Command KOM Branch teams and Birecik and Hilvan District Gendarmerie Command teams. At this point, dogs with sensitive noses named "Dürbün, Yaren, Sebat and Yürek" also participated in the operation.
During the searches carried out on a total of 8 different people and their vehicles, drugs and smuggled electronic cigarettes were found. During the searches, 779 grams of marijuana, 502 grams of powdered marijuana and 189 illegal electronic cigarettes were seized.
As a result of the operation, judicial proceedings were initiated against 1 person for the crime of manufacturing and trading drugs, 6 people for the crime of purchasing/possessing/accepting drugs for use, and 1 person for the crime of violating the Smuggling Law No. 5607. Suspicious persons were detained to be referred to judicial authorities.
