140 Thousand Elderly People Are Being Careed For At Home

According to the information obtained from the official website of the Ministry of Family and Social Services, services for the elderly are being expanded with the Integrated Care System within the scope of studies to support the care of the elderly.

In this context, it prioritizes home care assistance to ensure that elderly individuals receive care services alongside their families.

According to the data stated that approximately 140 thousand elderly individuals benefit from this assistance, psycho-social rehabilitation, day care and home support services are also offered in the "day service centers" established for elderly individuals. In this context, as of January 2024, it serves the elderly in 37 Day Care and Active Life Centers.

Elderly care institutions also provide services such as housing, individual self-care, health, social support-consultancy, psychological support-consultancy, rehabilitation, social activity, nutrition and cleaning.

On the other hand, in 2016, the Elderly Support Program (YADES), which facilitates the lives of those in need of bio-psycho social care by providing the necessary care in the places where they live, was launched in order to protect and support the elderly over the age of 65 who reside in Turkey and need social services. It has been recorded that, as of January 2022, 2024 thousand 7 elderly individuals in 35 thousand 61 households have been reached with 87 different projects in 797 municipalities in 128 years, including YADES projects and 491 projects.
