A new attack has been added to the attacks against building inspectors who perform a duty on behalf of the public. In the incident that took place in Adana, YDKBD Adana Branch member, Rht Group Building Control Company owner Ö.T. was shot in the leg and injured by the contractor whom he warned to correct the deficiencies at the construction site he was inspecting.
Making a statement regarding the armed injury incident, YDKBD Bursa Branch President Esra İnhanlı condemned the attack.
Pointing out that building inspection is a public duty, İnhanlı said:
“The authorities who provide supervision are also people who perform a public duty. We condemn this attack. We wish our colleague to get well soon. We stand by him and support him. We will continue to follow the issue in every field. This ugly and excessive attack is now testing our patience and scaring us. We ask with concern; Does one person have to lose their life to draw attention to this aspect? “We hope this incident will be the last attack on our colleagues.”
