Sedat Yalçın: “Self-control is a must in city management”

Sedat Yalçın stated that a self-control mechanism is essential when managing the city and said, “In this way, we can prevent the growth of the city. We do not have a strategic plan culture. There is no data for Bursa either. Without data, it is not possible to manage. "There should be a data center that will collect all data from transportation to waste management," he said. Yalçın stated the following:

“Due to global warming, the water in this city is decreasing and the air quality is deteriorating. We need to have a culture of sustainability. There should be controlled growth, but there is no control in Bursa. The compatibility of Bursa's physical conditions and industry should be taken into consideration. It is not right to increase the capacity of places that produce with old technology. We need to build industry by applying technology without increasing the population. There are suitable areas with low agricultural productivity from İnegöl to Eskişehir. “We can use those places for industry.”

Noting that Bursa's tourism potential can come to the fore if the industrial problem is solved with common sense, Yalçın stated the figure of 600 thousand houses for urban transformation.

Following Yalçın, BUSİAD Chairman of the Board of Directors Buğra Küçükkayalar gave information about BUSİAD's "Bursa Developing with Industry, Agriculture and Tourism" vision document.
