Kayseri Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Dr. Memduh Büyükkılıç stated that the aim is to solve traffic problems by ensuring transit traffic flow with multi-level intersection planning at Kartal Junction, which is located on the most important transportation corridors of the city.
Kayseri Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Memduh Büyükkılıç shared with the public some examples of the special and important projects they will carry out in the new service period.
Stating that the Kartal Junction Project, the most important of these projects, is ready, Mayor Büyükkılıç reminded that the junctions in the Kartal region are located on the most important transportation corridors of the city.
Büyükkılıç stated that the new project will be implemented at Kartal Junction, where 85 thousand vehicles pass daily and sometimes 8 thousand 500 vehicles pass per hour during peak hours.
Büyükkılıç emphasized that the project will suit the city and will be a radical solution to the traffic problem in that region and said, “Hopefully, the project will be ready in the coming period. Let us also thank our minister Mehmet Özhaseki, the resource is available from the World Bank under suitable conditions. I hope we can share that our minister, who loves our city, did not spare his greatest support and made the necessary contributions. We say thank you and long live. "We will ensure that this project suits our city, by inviting contractor companies that know this job to tender, and hopefully it will be completed in a short time," he said.
Stating that they will have implemented 4 intersections with Kartal Junction, Mayor Büyükkılıç said, “We continue with the intersection in front of our university with our Kartal Junction. "A total of 4 intersections will be implemented, including the intersection coming to the Tacettin Boulevard section and the intersection coming down from Hisarcık side," he said.
Büyükkılıç added that within the scope of planning the intersections in the Kartal region, it will be aimed to solve traffic problems by ensuring transit traffic flow through 3-storey intersection planning with underpasses, level crossings and overpasses at the intersections.
