Yusufeli Central Viaduct Completed! Both ends made ends meet

Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Abdulkadir Uraloğlu said, “The last segment of the Yusufeli Central Viaduct was placed and the two ends were brought together. We will complete the asphalt work on the bridge as soon as possible and put the viaduct into service. “I wish you good luck in advance.” he said.

In his statement, Minister Uraloğlu stated that the work on the Yusufeli Central Viaduct, which is under construction within the scope of the changing road network due to the Yusufeli Dam and HEPP in Artvin, has come to an end.

Uraloğlu stated that the Yusufeli Dam, built on the Çoruh River, is Turkey's first and the world's 275th highest dam in the arch dam class with a height of 5 meters from the foundation, and said that due to Yusufeli Dam and HEPP, Yusufeli district center and 7 villages are completely flooded. He reminded me that he was under it.

Uraloğlu noted that the state acted quickly in that process, as in all cases, to change the settlements of 7 villages and said, “Our citizens received their homes at the ceremony attended by our President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan on November 22, 2022. The rights holders moved to the new settlement built in the Sakut and Yansiticilar area, located at the upper elevations of the old district center. "None of our citizens were victimized." he said.

YUSUFELI CENTRAL VIADUCT CONSTRUCTION WORKS ARE COMPLETED

Stating that the central viaduct, which will play an important role in transportation to the new district center in Yusufeli district, is also very important, Minister Uraloğlu said, “We are working on the viaduct, which is 150 meters high and 685 meters long, built using a balanced console and pouring system, on the dam lake, which will connect the new district center to the existing highway. It was going fast. "We have now come to an end in the work." He used his expressions.

YOU WILL SAVE BOTH TIME AND FUEL

Minister Uraloğlu stated that the Yusufeli Central Viaduct was built to connect the two sides on the reconstructed highway route, instead of the roads on the valley route that were closed by the rising waters of the Yusufeli Dam, and that the final works were completed.

Noting that the asphalt works on the bridge will be completed as soon as possible and the viaduct will be put into service, Uraloğlu stated that with the completion of the bridge, the 16,2 kilometer road currently used will be reduced to 685 meters.

Uraloğlu underlined that with the completion of the viaduct, approximately 25 minutes will be saved in the time of going to and from Artvin, and pointed out that both time and fuel will be saved.
