Organic food companies from different provinces of Turkey took their place at the Nuremberg Organic Food Fair (BIOFACH), which was held at the Messe fairground and known as the "world's largest organic products fair".

The quality that Turkey has achieved in the organic product sector in recent years made its mark at the fair, where Turkish companies had the opportunity to explain their new products and projects to international suppliers and fair participants.

Companies participating in the fair from Turkey had the opportunity to introduce their organic certified products, which do not use chemical fertilizers and pesticides, to the participants and had the opportunity to examine new trends on site.

16 companies from Turkey participated in the event with national participation in the Turkey Pavilion established by the Aegean Exporters' Associations at the fair. Turkish companies took a strong place in almost all of the 9 halls where the fair was held. A total of 37 Turkish companies attended the Nuremberg BioFach Fair this year.

Sessions were held at the fair with the main theme of "Food for the Future: Women's Impact on Sustainable Food Systems". Current research findings on organic products, ecological transformation of the global food system, current challenges and the future of the organic sector, sustainable food infrastructure and supply chain solutions were discussed in more than 200 sessions.

“WE SEE THE LATEST DEVELOPMENTS IN ORGANIC PRODUCTS IN THE WORLD AT THE FAIR”

Mehmet Ali Işık, President of the Aegean Dried Fruits and Products Exporters' Association, said that BIOFACH has been Germany's and the world's largest meeting center for organic products for more than 30 years.

Stating that it is very important that 94 companies from 2 countries participate in the fair this year, Işık said, “Companies come from all over the world. There are many sectors at the BioFach Fair, including cosmetics. Two studies were conducted here. First, companies promote their own products and countries promote their own products. Secondly, everyone sees what is happening in the world, the trends, the latest studies. We also organized a meeting titled "The effects of the EU's New Organic Regulation on Turkey." Representatives of control and certification companies, KSKDER and representatives of EOCC, the umbrella organization of Control and Certification Associations in the EU, attended. "It was a very productive meeting," he said.
