Continuing its production activities in Sivas without slowing down, TÜRASAŞ is preparing to add a new one to its 3 main factories. The factory, which will start production in March, will produce as Turkey's largest bogie factory.
TÜRASAŞ Sivas Regional Manager Atanur Karadağ stated that TÜRASAŞ, which was established in 1939, is a leading factory in wagon production and repair, and noted that the bogie factory, which will enter production in March, will be the largest bogie production facility in Turkey. Stating that approximately 4 bogies will be produced annually in the factory to be established, Karadağ stated that they will be able to produce 500 wagons annually after the increase in bogie production. Stating that the new factory to be established covers an area of 500 thousand square meters, Karadağ said, “We also have projects such as tank transport wagon and truck trailer, which have been included in the Presidential investment program in 10. We also carry out the prototype and mass production of these projects in Sivas. As our President expressed in 2024, we will grow TÜRASAŞ stubbornly. "We adopted it as our motto and now we are expanding TÜRASAŞ out of spite," he said.

Stating that they will start production in March as Turkey's largest bogie factory, TÜRASAŞ Sivas Regional Manager Atanur Karadağ said, “TÜRASAŞ is a factory established in 1939. He makes wagons and carries out wagon manufacturing and repairs. While it was an institution that produced and repaired locomotives until forty years ago, it later became a factory that focused only on large wagons. We are an eighty-five year old institution. Since our establishment, our name has changed as Cer Workshop, SIDEMAS, TÜDEMSAŞ, and finally TÜRASAŞ, Sivas Regional Directorate, but our content has never changed. Our weight in the wagon manufacturing sector has never changed. We, as TÜRASAŞ Sivas Regional Directorate, have been trying to contribute to this for three years - and we have been continuing as TÜRASAŞ since 2020. With our productions and new projects, the bogie production factory we are currently in is one of these new projects. While we have continued our activities with three main factories so far, we are now happy to open the fourth main factory. This new factory will be Turkey's largest bogie production factory. We will produce approximately 4 bogies per year, which is a production number corresponding to 500 wagons. Here, we first aimed to increase the number of wagon production. For this it was necessary to increase the bogie. We prepared the infrastructure. If God allows, we will open it in March. We have completed all the tender processes for this factory. You can see some of it right now, our systems have been established and are being established. Our benches such as our sandblasting and plasma cutting benches, our test units, our fixtures, etc. have arrived. It keeps coming. We made all our bench connections. We have completed our personnel recruitment. Having received the necessary permissions from the treasury, a permanent part of our staff has arrived and continues to come. "Hopefully, we will hit our first source in March and say Bismillah to the bogie," he said.

Stating that they are not slowing down in production with projects such as tank transport wagons, Karadağ said, “We operate on an area of approximately 400 thousand square meters, including a closed area of 110 thousand square meters. A part of 26 thousand square meters of the closed area is reserved for wagon repair. 20 thousand square meters of area is reserved for wagon production. We have a metal works department of 15 thousand square meters and in our latest factory we will operate as a bogie production factory of 10 thousand square meters, God willing. In addition to our bogie factory project and our normal production, we are working to produce our container wagon, which we call national wagon and twin wagon, which are in demand abroad. We also have projects such as tank transport wagon and truck trailer transport wagon, which have been included in the Presidential investment program in 2024. We also carry out the prototype and mass production of these projects in Sivas. "We have a motto, as our President expressed in 2018, 'We will grow TÜRASAŞ stubbornly,'" he said.
