Konya Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Uğur İbrahim Altay continued the tradition. He announced that the traffic of the underpass had been opened in the live broadcast he started on social media while he was traveling with Togg. Mayor Altay gave the good news during the live broadcast that the Alâeddin-Adliye tram line will be extended to Konya City Hospital.
Referring to the importance of the bridge junction in terms of public transportation for the region, Mayor Altay said, “The City Hospital Bridge Junction, which we opened for passage from below, has become an important bridge junction in terms of public transportation as it will pass over the new rail system line we will build. "Hopefully, by the end of March, it will be completed with its superstructure, signaling and landscaping and will be fully put into service," he said.
Pointing out that the bridge junction provides great infrastructure support for the tram's passage from the ring road to the other side, Mayor Altay said, "When completed, our rail systems will reach the City Hospital and the New Industrial Site from Alaaddin uninterruptedly."
