Youth-Friendly President Meets with Students

Metropolitan Mayor of Kayseri, which was deemed worthy of the title of 'Youth Friendly Awarded City' by President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, Dr. Memduh Büyükkılıç met with students at Nuh Naci Yazgan University in the 'President Meets Students' program within the scope of his work for young people.

At the meeting held in the Conference Hall, Mayor Büyükkılıç talked about the historical and commercial past of the ancient city Kayseri, which hosted different civilizations, and explained that the history of the city dates back 7 thousand years.

“WE CARE VERY MUCH ABOUT OUR YOUTH”

Stating that they care about young people very much, Büyükkılıç said, “I would like to share that, as local administrators, we do not spare necessary services other than routine municipal services. The opinions of around 75 thousand students about Kayseri are important and meaningful to us, and our perspective and stance towards you, as local governments, is also much more important. We care very much about our young people. "We try to understand young people, listen to them and meet their needs," he said.

Mayor Büyükkılıç, talking about Erciyes Ski Center, the brand value of Kayseri, said, “It is a ski center decorated with awards, with 19 mechanical facilities, heated, 40 piste areas, a track length of more than 110 kilometers, where you can ski all day long. "We developed a project called High Altitude Camping Center so that we wouldn't allow a valuable person with 4 different entrances to ski for 3-4 months," he said.

Emphasizing that Kayseri has started to come to the fore in agriculture and animal husbandry, Büyükkılıç stated that the city is Turkey's first in sunflower, rye and safflower production.

Explaining the services in the city one by one, Mayor Büyükkılıç noted that they have been working on many issues from transportation to tourism, sports and culture, and that they will continue these studies. Büyükkılıç said:

“Our city is an open-air museum. It has hosted different civilizations. There is the Roman period, the Byzantine period, the Ottoman period, the Seljuk period. Currently, there is the Republic period that was gifted, gifted and entrusted to us by the founder of our Republic, Mustafa Kemal Atatürk. Hopefully we will protect and protect it. Not with words, but with our practices. We will continue to protect and protect our Republic in our works with a competing understanding of technology and innovative understanding that will raise it above the contemporary and civilizational level. Talking about all the beauties of Kayseri, Mayor Büyükkılıç said, 'Kayseri is such a city. "Because there is a doctor in charge," he said. Stating that they will realize the Alzheimer's Center, Büyükkılıç said that they aim to prevent disappearances and monitor their health with the help of clocks for the citizens who have Alzheimer's disease and will be hosted at the center. Mayor Büyükkılıç also talked about the award-winning project HOSPİS, which was recently put into service, and stated that they will serve cancer patients in this facility.

Büyükkılıç stated that they provide projects and services such as housing, water bill support, transportation support, book and stationery support, free tea, soup and internet in libraries for young people, and stated that he instructed that the 15-minute free application of KAYBİS should be twice a day.

Pointing out the importance of serving people, Metropolitan Mayor Dr. Memduh Büyükkılıç said, “We should be the ones who implement it immediately, not the ones who promise. The important thing is to serve people, the best of people are those who serve. "I would like to express that we will work in this direction in the future, using common sense, benefiting greatly from the foresight of our universities, implementing even better cooperation with our organizations and universities," he said.

Talking about his memories to the students, Mayor Büyükkılıç shared his adventure of starting politics and serving the public. Referring to unity and solidarity, Büyükkılıç said, “Let's take care of each other. "Let's approach each other with tolerance and understanding," he said. President Büyükkılıç advised young students to be well-equipped and wished them to improve themselves. Stating that they carried out service and work policy activities in Kayseri, Büyükkılıç said, "When we look back, we have implemented 413 major projects, in this 5-year period, in 16 districts, both in the center and in the countryside", and that they served without resorting to excuses, and that the people of Kayseri are employees, He added that he loves the honest, the reliable and the self-sacrificing.

Stating that they love young people and that they will establish an IT academy in the new period, Mayor Büyükkılıç also said that they will give opportunities to young people with smart city projects and shared that they will cooperate with young people.

Büyükkılıç stated that he rewards successful students and said, “I give opportunities to those who are successful. Success does not go unrewarded. "There is no requirement that it will be public," he said and promised to host 10 university students in the Metropolitan Assembly.
