Şanlıurfa-Ovaköy Highway is Coming!

Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Abdulkadir Uraloğlu stated that they will build a new 320-kilometer-long highway between Şanlıurfa and Ovaköy within the scope of the Development Road Project and said, "With this project, the cargo coming from India, East Asia and Persian Gulf countries to the FAV Port, which is being built in the south of Iraq." “We plan to reach Turkey by building a 1200-kilometer two-way highway and railway.” said.

Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Abdulkadir Uraloğlu visited Şanlıurfa Governor Hasan Şıldak in Şanlıurfa, where he went to participate in a series of programs, and signed the Book of Honor. Minister Uraloğlu, who later visited Şanlıurfa Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Zeynel Abidin Beyazgül, stated in his statement to the journalists that he was happy to be in Şanlıurfa, the "city of prophets".

Expressing his condolences to those who lost their lives and condolences to their relatives in the February 6 earthquakes centered in Kahramanmaraş, Minister Uraloğlu said that they will examine the intersection and road construction investments of his Ministry on site within the scope of their contacts in the city.

Minister Uraloğlu stated that Şanlıurfa has a very important position today as it did in the past, and that the city is the center of GAP, the most important regional development project of the world and Turkey.

Stating that the Harran Plain, which has become one of the most productive plains of Turkey with the GAP, has become the apple of the eye of Turkey and even the world, Minister Uraloğlu said, “This is where Şanlıurfa, which has such historical, strategic and geopolitical importance, has an important place in agriculture, tourism and trade. What does it take to develop? Of course, the transportation network needs to be strong. Since 2002, we have invested approximately 58 billion liras in Şanlıurfa's transportation and communication infrastructure. We increased the length of the divided road from 28 kilometers to 619 kilometers. We have completed important highway projects such as Şanlıurfa-Birecik Highway, Nissibi Bridge on Adıyaman-Kâhta-Siverek Road, Şanlıurfa-Diyarbakır Road, Şanlıurfa Eastern and Southwest Ring Roads, Şanlıurfa-Viranşehir Road. We opened the Çevik Force Bridge Interchange, located at the intersection of Diyarbakır State Highway, Northwest Ring Road and Eastern Ring Road, giving breathing space to Şanlıurfa's urban traffic. At this point, where approximately 25 thousand vehicles pass daily, we reduced the transit time at the intersection by 5 times by eliminating stop-and-go waits. We connected Şanlıurfa to Mardin, Gaziantep and Diyarbakır with divided roads. "We are currently continuing 13 highway projects with a project cost of 876 billion 13 million liras." said.

WE ARE PLANNING TO IMPLEMENT THE URFARAY PROJECT AND COMPLETE IT IN 2028

Minister Uraloğulu stated that they are working to strengthen Şanlıurfa's railway transportation network and that they have renewed the 120 kilometer railway line between Karkamış-Nusaybin line and Karkamış-Zenginova.

Abdulkadir Uraloğlu talked about the rapid teren project in his speech and said:

“We will also implement the Gaziantep-Şanlıurfa and Şanlıurfa-Mardin high-speed train lines projects that will introduce high-speed trains to Şanlıurfa. We have completed the survey projects of the Gaziantep-Şanlıurfa line. As soon as we include it in the investment program, we will start tendering. We aim to complete the project work of the Şanlıurfa-Mardin line within this year. Of course, I cannot help but mention the Urfa rail, which is an important transportation project. Here, our Metropolitan Municipality carried out the necessary preliminary project studies regarding the Urfa Rail, and this project was approved by our Ministry, and now our Metropolitan Municipality is carrying out the final project studies here. Our goal is to have our Metropolitan Municipality complete this project at the beginning of 2025, submit it to the approval of our Ministry, and after this approval, we plan to implement this project with our municipality, probably in cooperation with the Metropolitan Municipality and our Ministry, with the approval of our President, within the 2028 period. I want to wish you good luck in advance. We also carried our brothers from Şanlıurfa to the skies, not just by land. We opened the new airport with a capacity of 2 million passengers in 2007. Passenger traffic, which was 2002 thousand in 23, increased to 2023 thousand in 883. I would like to share some good news with you here. Our esteemed Minister, our mayor, our MPs, in short, the people of Şanlıurfa, had a request for a flight to Izmir. We talked about that today too. Hopefully, flights to Izmir will start in the first half of March, good luck with this. We also strengthened Şanlıurfa's communication network. We increased the fiber optic cable length from 854 kilometers to 6 thousand 722 kilometers. While there were no high-speed internet subscribers in the province before, today more than 1 million 682 thousand subscribers started using high-speed internet.”

WITHIN THE SCOPE OF THE DEVELOPMENT ROAD PROJECT, WE WILL BUILD A NEW HIGHWAY BETWEEN ŞANLIURFA AND OVAKÖY WITH A LENGTH OF 320 KILOMETERS

Stating that they serve Şanlıurfa with love and that they will continue to do so, Minister Uraloğlu continued as follows:

“Within the scope of the Development Road Project, we will build a new 320 kilometer long highway between Şanlıurfa and Ovaköy. With this project, we plan to transport the cargo coming from India, East Asia and Persian Gulf countries to the FAV Port, which is being built in the south of Iraq, to reach Turkey by building a 1200-kilometer two-way highway and railway. Thanks to this new international corridor, starting from Iraq and coming from Ovaköy to Turkey, we will connect South Asia and the Middle East to Europe, the Caucasus and North Africa through a new route. In this way, it will establish a vital connection for our region in the north-south corridor. We have calculated that the transportation that takes 45 days from the Cape of Good Hope and 35 days from the Red Sea today can be done in only 25 days when we complete the Development Road Project, and we are carrying out our work accordingly. It is a very important project and we are following the work very closely under the instructions of our President to ensure its implementation. "When this new highway and the Development Road Project come into operation, it will make a significant contribution to the growth of Şanlıurfa's economy and increase employment by increasing the agricultural, industrial and commercial activities in the region, and will provide jobs and food opportunities for our citizens."

Stating that they serve Şanlıurfa with love and will continue to do so, Uraloğlu said that they have been doing service politics, not ideology politics, under the leadership of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan since 2002.

Minister Uraloğlu stated that they act with the motto "Keep people alive so that the state lives" and said, "At this point, our mayor, Mr. Zeynel Abidin Beyazgül, whom we nominated again from the AK Party for the Şanlıurfa Metropolitan Municipality Mayorship in the 31 March elections, is a very active and successful municipality, especially with its social projects." He held the presidency and continues to do so. Şanlıurfa experienced change and transformation in every field with him. Important projects were also undertaken in the fields of education, culture, health and sports. With the aim of 'A Greener Şanlıurfa', parks, squares and green areas were built in the city center and districts. He won the appreciation of our President by restoring the heirlooms of our ancestors in accordance with their historical texture. He removed the reinforced concrete structures from the heart of the city in Kale Arkası, Culture and Tourism Road, Asian and Ottoman Neighborhoods, Kızılay and Kızılkoyun, turning these areas green and offering them to the service of our citizens. Do you remember when municipalities in opposition parties came to the fore with a service they provided to their citizens and people? After all, those who provide this service receive their budget from the state. Our state also transfers budgets to these. But unfortunately, we see and watch with regret that there is no service in opposition municipalities. There is a lot of talk, but not a single amount of work is done. Do not forget that our President, Mr. Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, is a world leader who came from the municipal administration background, knows this job very well and attaches great importance to municipal administration. No one, but no one, can compete with the AK Party's understanding of service politics. People of Şanlıurfa said that our President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan will win with 2023 percent of the votes in the 62 Presidential elections. Hopefully, we will now win all the district municipalities as well as the metropolitan municipality in Şanlıurfa. We will implement all the projects we planned with our President Zeynel Abidin. “We will continue to develop, strengthen and increase the welfare level of Şanlıurfa with our projects that we work on step by step.” said.

Minister Uraloğlu underlined that Deputy Speaker of the Turkish Grand National Assembly Bekir Bozdağ provided important services to Turkey during his time as a member of parliament and ministry, and said that he also witnessed these closely.

Minister Uraloğlu then inspected the Şanlıurfa City Hospital Junction Project Area and the Ballıkaya Junction Project Area.

During his visit, Minister Uraloğlu was accompanied by Deputy Speaker of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey Bekir Bozdağ, AK Party Şanlıurfa Deputy Mehmet Ali Cevheri, MHP Şanlıurfa Deputy İbrahim Özyavuz and other relevant persons.
