President Erdoğan gave the good news that the Sirkeci-Kazlıçeşme Rail System Line will be free for 15 days.
Sirkeci-Kazlıçeşme Rail System and Pedestrian-Oriented New Generation Transportation Project was opened and put into service on Monday, February 26, with the attendance of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.
President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan made the first trip using the suburban train on the Sirkeci-Kazlıçeşme Rail System Line, which was put into service today. In Sirkeci, Turkish bayraklı Erdoğan got on the suburban train equipped with balloons and sat in the driver's seat. With Erdoğan's participation, the first train departed for Kazlıçeşme.
Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Abdulkadir Uraloğlu accompanied Erdoğan during his journey.
The train, which made its first voyage, was welcomed with applause upon arrival at Kazlıçeşme stop.
After getting off the train, Erdoğan went to the ceremony area to officially open the line.
Accordingly, the 8,3-kilometer Sirkeci-Kazlıçeşme Rail System Line, described as "a project that will strengthen Istanbul's urban rail system network", consists of 8 stations. There are 20 artistic buildings around the line, which is planned to have a one-way journey time of 29 minutes.
Pedestrian-Oriented New Generation Transportation Project
Although the project is a rail system project, it includes 7 thousand 300 meters of bicycle paths, 7 thousand 300 meters of pedestrian paths, 10 thousand 120 square meters of squares and recreation areas, 6 thousand square meters of closed social cultural areas, 74 thousand square meters of new green areas, 3 square meters, With its pedestrian overpasses, 22 highways and pedestrian underpasses, 4 registered stations including Yedikule, Kocamustafapaşa, Yenikapı, Kumkapı, 2 stations to be renewed, Sirkeci and Cankurtaran, and 2 stations in Kazlıçeşme and Cerrahpaşa, it provides socio-cultural, social and cultural needs as well as transportation needs to the people of Istanbul. It stands out as a new generation transportation project with a hybrid character, with opportunities such as tourism, ecological, recreation, sports, excursion, bicycles and scooters. In addition, within the scope of this project, the intersection connecting the coastal road to Samatya and Cerrahpaşa hospitals in Samatya and Cerrahpaşa was modernized and the underpass clearance was raised and rebuilt.
