New Model in Vocational and Technical Education

Deputy Minister of National Education Yelkenci wished that the "Secondary Education Workshop from National Policies to Local Strategies" organized by Bursa Provincial Directorate of National Education at Merinos Atatürk Congress and Culture Center would result in strong suggestions that will guide national education policies. Stating that the industry in Bursa is supported by vocational and technical education, Yelkenci said, “Of course, there are many good works that our Ministry has been doing for a long time in terms of vocational and technical education. "Under the leadership of our Minister, our Ministry is preparing to appear before the public soon with a new model in vocational technical education that will meet the needs of the day and structure it by taking into account today's opportunities and conditions," he said.

Our Children Need Turkish to Be Successful

Yelkenci emphasized that these workshops, where Bursa will present its educational experience, are very important and said: “We put students at the center of education. We want to consider people in all their dimensions. In this sense, we care about his/her cognitive, social, physical and spiritual development and all developmental dimensions with a 360-degree perspective. We started our work by revealing the fact that our children will remain where one of them is neglected. With the beginning of the academic year, we shared some of our projects. We sent it to our provinces and asked them to start its implementation in our schools. One of them is 'The Riches of Our Language Project.' This project was a step towards centering our Turkish language. Because we know that Turkish is needed for our children to succeed in all areas. There is a need to know our language well and use it well. In this sense, we shared the 'Richness of Our Language Project' with the public as a project that focuses on the act of reading a dictionary and continues with the aim of teaching our classical texts, memorizing them and ultimately producing a dictionary.” Yelkenci also touched upon the "Teacher Academies" and "Khwarezmi Education Model" run by the Ministry of National Education.
