Mayor Özşen: “The Works Were Sacrificed in the Perception Operation”

Manisa Metropolitan Municipality Deputy Secretary General Ali Öztozlu, Road Construction Maintenance and Repair Department Head Kurtuluş Kuruçay, MASKİ Sewage Department Head Cem Çöllü, Jewelers Association President Erkan Özşen, together with MHP MYK Member Mehmet Ödevli, examined the asphalt works carried out on Kuyumcular Street. On the other hand, this work, which is important for the tradesmen of the region, was used as political material by some literary organs and appeared in the public opinion with baseless news. Deputy Secretary General Ali Öztozlu, who gave information about the current status of the work after the inspection carried out on the street, said: "We started working here upon the request of our tradesmen, upon the instruction of our president. Our work first started by scraping the asphalt with a milling machine and making the road ready for asphalt. The material extracted from here was transported to our construction sites for recycling and reuse as asphalt material. Then, the 8st layer of asphalt of 1 centimeters was laid. Later, by our MASKİ General Directorate, the channel and grille covers were raised and additional grille covers were placed, making the 2nd floor ready for asphalt. With our 2nd floor asphalt work, the street will be opened to the service of our citizens. In addition, the missing trees on our street were also planted. "We will complete the work we started on Wednesday today (Saturday)," he said.

WE HAVE NO VICTIMACIES
Speaking after Öztozlu, the President of the Jewelers Association, Erkan Özşen, shared his sadness that this work, which is important for the tradesmen of the region, was used as a perception operation and said, "About 2 months ago, Manisa Metropolitan Municipality Mayor, Mr. Cengiz Ergün, Dr., known as the Jewelers' Bazaar. We had a request for road maintenance and repair of Sadık Ahmet Street. Our president evaluated this and started road maintenance work. The opinions of 180 tradesmen were taken for this study. 80 percent approved. The aim here was to open our street to the service of our citizens in a spacious way. Our bazaar has a historical texture. Unfortunately, these studies have been sacrificed to the perception operation by some political groups on the eve of the election. I can say that, as the Jewelers Bazaar tradesmen, we are sorry to be involved in such a perception operation. This was our request. None of our tradesmen have any grievances here. The work was carried out really quickly. We conveyed our request to our mayor that the work on our street be completed and put into service by February 14, Valentine's Day. Thank you. Work is being completed before Valentine's Day. Once again, on behalf of myself and our other tradesmen, I am Manisa Metropolitan Municipality.

“I would like to thank our Chairman Cengiz Ergün,” he said.
