CHP Deputy Chairman and Deputy Group Chairman Gökhan Günaydın said, “The minimum wage in this country is 17.000 TL. According to the calculations made by Türk-İş, it is necessary to spend 14.000 TL just for food. In other words, the hunger limit is 14.000 TL. If you want to live humanely, your monthly salary must be 45.000 TL. In short, there are 86 million people in this country. 75 million people living in this country are actually condemned to an income well below a normal living income. Referring to the disaster that occurred in the gold mine in İliç, Günaydın continued his speech as follows: “Look, it has been nine days since the mining disaster in İliç. I do not call it a disaster or an accident. I say murder. Our nine working brothers were buried under 10 million cubic meters of cyanide-laden soil. Nine of our children could not be reached yet. What does the Chairman of the Nationalist Movement Party say? 'The expert report needs to be re-evaluated,' he says. Do you know what is the reason? The expert report says that that land was piled wrong, that mine was mismanaged, so I ask? Why does the People's Alliance, from AKP to MHP, defend the mining company instead of defending citizens, workers and labourers? Saying that he is working to prevent Thrace from becoming concrete, Günaydın continued his words as follows: “Look, Keşan is an agricultural country, I traveled around here 15-20 years ago. We wandered around here so that the lands of Thrace would not become concrete and fall victim to industry. We wandered around here to protect our paddy. Today, we buy wheat, sunflower, soybean, corn and paddy, all of them from abroad. So, I ask you, how did the lands where agriculture began all over the world, the lands that sell agricultural products to the whole world, become unable to feed themselves? Do you know why they sold not only the land of the homeland, but also the farmers themselves? How will this country produce when 1 liter of diesel costs 44 liras? How will this country produce and survive when 1 dollar has exceeded 30 TL? In order to hold all this to account and change this order, we will go to the polls 40 days later on March 31, 2024, we will look into each other's eyes, we will look at each other and we will say, now is the time. It is time to hold them accountable for what they have put us through, and with this awareness, we will go and vote in solidarity with each other with a smiling face.
