Chairman of the Motherland Party, İbrahim Çelebi, published a commemorative message on the anniversary of the February 6 earthquakes. Pointing out that February 6, when the earthquakes centered in Kahramanmaraş took place, was remembered as a great pain, Mayor Çelebi said, “A 6 magnitude earthquake occurred in Kahramanmaraş at 2023 on February 04.17, 7.7, with the epicenter in Pazarcık district. 9 hours and 7 minutes later, at 13.24, the 7.6 magnitude earthquake, this time with the epicenter in Elbistan, destroyed 11 cities. "According to official figures, 53 thousand 237 of our citizens lost their lives," he said.

Mayor Çelebi stated that the precautions not taken and the negligence experienced after the earthquake further increased the suffering and continued as follows: “Exactly one year ago, in the middle of the night, thousands of our lives were lost under the rubble. Rescue efforts were incomplete. In the past year, problems, especially housing, could not be solved. Necessary policies should be implemented urgently to relieve the pain of the earthquake, regardless of the political views of all our citizens. The state exists for the nation. It is essential for the state to integrate with the nation. On the anniversary of the February 6, 2013 earthquake, may God have mercy on our citizens we lost in the earthquake and rest their souls in peace!”
