Deadline for Nomination Lists is February 20

According to the decision published by the Supreme Election Board in the Official Gazette today, candidate lists must be submitted by 20 on February 17.00.

Political party district presidencies, mayors, municipal council memberships and provincial general council memberships must submit their lists to the district election boards, and in metropolitan cities, political party provincial presidencies must submit their metropolitan mayor candidate lists to the provincial election boards, separately for all elections, by February 20 at the latest. It was decided to do so. It was noted that for all candidates, persons authorized by political party headquarters can submit candidate lists to district and provincial election boards.

DEADLINE TO APPLY, INCLUDING INDEPENDENT CANDIDATES, IS FEBRUARY 20!

Those who will be independent candidates must submit their documents to the relevant election board by the same date, February 7, by attaching to the petition documents stating that they are eligible to be elected and a receipt proving that they deposited 228 thousand 20 lira to the Goods Fund.

METHODS TO BE APPLIED IN THE RESIGNATIONS OF CANDIDATES

According to the YSK's decision, resignations from candidacy can be made directly after identification at the provincial election boards for metropolitan mayors and district election boards for other types of elections.

According to the decision published in the Official Gazette, candidates can apply to the provincial and district election boards in the same way to be forwarded to the relevant election boards, and resignations can also be sent to the provincial and district election boards through a notary public. Political parties will be able to complete this in case of resignations from their candidate lists. Any deficiencies in the candidate lists due to death or resignation after March 3, when the candidate lists are finalized within the scope of the election calendar, will not be completed. However, if these people are elected, those who replace them will be deemed elected.
