According to the latest statements, Chinese companies show that they are interested in Turkey on the production and sales side.
Albert Saydam, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Vehicle Supply Manufacturers Association, also made statements to support the accuracy of the issue. Saydam said that Chinese automobile brands want to produce in Turkey. It also excited the consumer by giving the brand name Saydam.
According to the statement; Skywell, Chery and MG. Skywell brand had previously announced that it would open a factory in Türkiye. The fact that Chery and MG will invest in Turkey will create balance changes in the automotive industry.
The European Union stated that, according to its recently announced decision, a 30% customs duty will be applied to electric cars imported from China. Turkey is at a critical point regarding China and Europe because in the European Customs Union Agreement, no taxes are collected from automobiles sent from Turkey. The same applies to cars brought to Turkey from Europe. That's why Chinese manufacturers prefer Turkey to expand into Europe.
